I did this with phone on silent, and siri announces every action so this wouldn’t be discreet AT ALL unless I’m missing something!?

That’s odd lol. Go to sounds in settings and turn on change with button

at the end you mention its only for iPhone 14 and I have an older model and I'm stuck in the black screen!
