It’s not just for spy or bad Intentions there’s other uses for this .. I want to shoot a very long time lapse video and want to save as much as I can of the battery by turning off the screen. It helps!

You don't need permission to film law enforcement, it is your right. Make sure you always always film law enforcement anytime you are contacted by them. Their bodycam footage has a way of getting lost or deleted. They cannot make you turn it off...that's a Bane violation and subject to them going to jail and fined. Get in the habit of filming everything...it's your constitutional right from any public area. State buildings, county/city, federal, DMV...open to the public you can film in public areas...restricted NO! Their Policy signs don't mean anything...they are NOT a law, they Don't carry the weight of law and if you don't follow their illegal policy YOUR NOT breaking the law. I suggest you watch "Long Island Audits " on youtube to learn more...very entertaining!

Can’t get it to work on a 6s plus. I get using the home button instead of the side button, but the three fingers to go to a black screen while recording. I can’t figure how to do that part on my 6s.

if you can't get past your lock screen or cant get your phone back to normal don't panic, you can get back in!!! activate siri and say " siri turn off voice over" and it should be fixed, i turned voiceover off manually in my settings and for some reason it stayed on until i had siri do it for me. if everything you click has a box around it voiceover is still on

Something went wrong with mine lmao when i did this! When i did the locked thingy my phone wont open up again so i needed to 3ple click the power off button to switch to normal mode to unlock it again and now whenever i tried doing the voice over thingy again my phone would just lock down..... Edit: so i just solved the problem mate and it works just fine now! Cool vid!

Wonder how long it will take Apple to disable screen curtain for the camera app. You used to be able to record with the lock screen on by swiping from the top after starting to record, but they "fixed" that after a while. As a last resort, you can also add Zoom (set to 1.2x max and low light filter) and Reduce White Point to the Accessibility shortcuts. When you combine both of those along with manually reducing your screen brightness, your screen can be made completely dark. It's more cumbersome, but it works in a pinch.

It worked the first time. After that when I turned on voiceover it would make the screen go black. From there I could record by pressing on where I thought record was lol.

You could have turned it off with Siri but I know the feeling I had the same issue for like 3 minutes

2:26 Tip: you don't have to tap once, wait, then tap twice. Jus tap twice right off the bat and it starts recording. Ditto for stopping the recording.
