It is a beautiful country. What amazes me is Wales is so small but has so many amazing areas. I guess I’m used to traveling over 1000 miles just to get out of the Midwest here.

I guess we are lucky. I remember being on tour of the states and we'd drive for 8 hours and still be in the same state!!! We can be in Spain in 2.5 hours and we can drive to England in 15 mins!!!

Super video .unlike Webbys comment above .ita much easier for me being Scottish to pronounce the ll sound .same as we say locccchhhh. Ive been all over Wales either playing golf or walking Wales Coast Path and always try my best to get the pronunciations right on my videos. Even learnt Llanfair PG...Gogogoch the night before. Tou missed the Welsh F is pronounced as a V. Llanfairfechan was my first experience of that. Anyways very entertaining video.

We love WALLLLLLLLEEEES!!! Couldn't agree more with mis pronunciations, i'm 100% so bad at them, but i do try at least haha!! Love how you've shown us how to say the dreaded LL's. Ahh Llandudno is just epic, but seriously WILLS... how the F did you manage the longest name one? Even my Welsh friends can't do that haha!! Love all the facts, the scenery and everything there is to offer you've managed to amazingly pop into this video, always always look forward to your videos, thank you Wills and Rach, when i visit Wales this year I'll feel a little more confident in pronouncing them hehe :D

I so need this. I hate when I have to get on a bus and tell a driver where I'm going on my coast walk paths. It has got so bad, I now show the driver google maps of where I'm headed and ask if they go there, a Using the excuse "I haven't got my glasses".

Hahaha I think once you've been schooled here it's inbuilt! Once you've learnt the alphabet it's a lot easier to read Welsh than English!

Hopefully Google Maps doesn't spit at us when we are in Wales. Ready for the dragon's hiss though! Wills looked like he enjoyed eating that fly! Double D is more than just a bra size 🤪Didn't think we would learn a new language today. Great work!

This is super helpful! I stayed at Gladstone Library in Hawarden last year (will pass through again next month) and had no idea of the correct pronunciation. You basically don’t touch on the “w” in Welsh words? How would you pronounce Trefriw? “Trev ri”?

Hawarden is actually the English word - it's Penerlag in Welsh. We just think it's funny and it's so often pronounced wrong! I think the closest phonetic saying of Trefriw I can give is Trev roo!! Thanks so much for watching our video and taking time to comment. Cheers 🍻

Thanks for watching. No Llewellyn can't be spelt with the two lots of double L or just the one at the beginning! Whatever the spelling we tend to only use the first LL as the sounded one! Maybe you've found an exception to the rule or we've been wrong!!! Cheers 🍻

@@theresabigwideworld2632 sorry, it was a typo, we meant Llewelyn can be spelt with 2 L’s or 1 in the middle of the word, but is always spelt with 2 L’s at the beginning, - Llewellyn or Llewelyn, always 2 at the beginning. Oops haha x

guess the welsh place names can be tough to get right we kind of have a similar problem in Australia with aboriginal place names guess just have to master it if you live there *📶full watch☑Au🦘👍thumbs up 👍*
