I chocked alone almost to death when I was 10. Luckily, my neighbor was nearby and saw that and he rushed to help me. And he used this technique.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they did at some point, but at least some mandate keeps them from commercializing first aid videos. Imagine trying to save your kid from choking and you get some wgcu or usaa commercial.

Sorry this may be a silly question, but if the person is choking and they pass out while the obstruction is still present, does CPR still work given that the airway is still blocked?

The idea is that the chest compressions hopefully dislodges the object. If you're in an emergency, check the mouth for the object and try remove it if and only if you see it. Two rescue breaths per cycle. Elsewise CPR as usual. If you're not in an emergency, check your calendar and reserve a seat at the next first aid training session in your vicinity. The best practices changes in the details every now and then, but the core knowledge usually stays the same. If you're here reading this you're probably of the material that will make the difference when the unfortunate happens, so it'll not be a waste of time.

@@kareemabnormal5823 Abdominal thrusts Stand behind the person who's choking. Place your arms around their waist and bend them forward. Clench 1 fist and place it right above their belly button. Put the other hand on top of your fist and pull sharply inwards and upwards. Repeat this movement up to 5 times.
