I had a few more thoughts after I finished recording so I'm adding some notes here. With the rewards system I'm talking about, you can save up to $35 every time you spend $250.
($250 x 4 points = 1,000 fuel points = $1 off per gallon, up to 35 gallons)
This ends up being a 14% discount. Although I don't do it, there is potential to save even more if you're purchasing gift cards with a credit card that also gives you cash back. Just an idea for stacking those rewards and saving even more.

I don't understand why more people aren't talking about this. Maybe that's why the program is so lucrative! I buy $250 of gift cards from kroger every month and use those to pay my bills. Then I take the fuel points and redeem them for $1 off a gallon at the pump. I always bring extra gas cans when I go to fill up my car so I hit the 35-gallon limit each time. I saved over $1000 on gas last year.
