    This was super helpful. I have had my aloe for 3 years, I received initially as a gift and suddenly the roots started to rot. I only watered it every month so I was surprised one day to see it drooping. When I did some digging I saw the rot. Now I can still save it!

    *This really works* I SAVED MY ROTTING ALOE VERA Thank you for the tips 😭👌🏽❤️ I dried the stem for like 4 days. Only 2 days since I placed my aloe vera in a tiny pot with small amount of soil (1/3pot), placed the pot in a shady area, and *now I see some tiny newly growing roots*

    I’m literally crying over tiger tooth (Labeled Goree) that are rotting. I’ve lost the fairy washboard ones as well. I’ve gotten quite a few plants as therapy but these seem to rot no matter soft sandy or gritty the soil. I’m checking all my plants for this and pests. What soil medium do you recommend and can any part of the leaves be propagated? I’ve learned so much from these two videos and I’ll do everything you showed. I subbed bc this content is priceless and I really need to have at least one survive. Thank you!!

    If your aloe vera was place indoor for quite a while, i suggest introducing it to sunlight slowly. Place it in a partly shaded area for a month, and them move it to sunny part. The leaves of the plant will turn slightly brown or may get sunburn for a while but it will bounce back and turn back to green when it has already adjusted to the sunlight.

    My aloe's have lived indoors in London with me for the last three years. It initially one plant and last year it was bursting out of it's nursery pot so I searched how to separate them (with a clean sharp tool) and left them to dry over for 24/36hrs. I then re potted them separately. The two larger aloes are very floppy and lower leaves becoming thin. I pruned it 2days ago but now they seem even more floppy. I moved them to a brighter spot too but the light here in London is very dark and grey and we haven't had much of a summer. They are in a room with high ceilings and three large North West facing windows. Is there any way I can save them? The smaller aloe pups seem to be doing okay maybe because they are in smaller terracotta pots.

    I have a small aloe Vera that looks like it’s rotting. I removed the leaves that have rotted and removed it around the base of the root as well. Can I leave the roots attached to dry before reporting or do I need to cut it off like you did in the previous video and plant each separately after drying?

  • @TheAloeVeraGarden

    @TheAloeVeraGarden

    If the roots are severely rotting, then you must cut it... but if the rotting is minor, you can just let it dry for a few days, you don't have to cut it. Let it totally dry before replanting.

    Aloe Vera is not very picky when it comes to soil. I also don't use big pots for small Aloe Vera because it's a waste of good soil. Also, little pots and small soil dries up easily during rainy season so I don't worry about my Aloe Vera getting wet all the time.

    First of all I would kill to get an aloe like yours! Secondly, I wondered of you could offer some advice. I have a hedgehog aloa and the bottom leaves are beginning to droop and turn a brown, shriveled, brown color at the tips. I have trimmed these away but they keep coming.Now, I have a bare trunk and a top heavy plant. How can I correct this and fix this plant. It flowers for me yearly so I have the care down but really need some help.

  • @TheAloeVeraGarden

    @TheAloeVeraGarden

    Жыл бұрын

    I have other aloe collection in the garden that I haven't shown, but I don't have an Aloe hedgehog. However, I take care of my other Aloes just the same as Aloe vera. If the plant's bottom leaves shriveled, it's normal. Older leaves will always shrivel and start to turn brown. But if the rest of the leaves are curled or shriveled, it means that the plant is not getting enough water and is usually caused by some root issues like root rot. It would help if you can show a picture of your plant. You can send it to my email thealoveragardenph@gmail.com or to my Facebook page, facebook.com/thealoeveragarden

  • @meganpahl3612

    I can answer that question for you. If you are seeing anything white in the soil and it is not rot meely bugs, get rid of the soil. It is now trash. Whit fungus wont hurt your plant but it will keep coming back by spores. I would trim your roots of any discoloration and wash them off, then replant in a cactus mix. That should be fine. You can also rinse the roots with isoproprolol alcohol before the replant, this will kill any remaining mold spores.

    Hello sir, excuse me for disturbing you but I would like to know what type of aloe vera do you have? because their size corresponds to what I need. How do you make them develop so well? Mine are more or less small. The leaves do not enlarge and are no more than 15 cm high. I have had them for over 3 years. I don't know what size of pots I have to take or in what material? Can they receive homemade organic fertilizer for succulent or not? It is very difficult in my country to find good answers to our questions about aloe vera. I would really like to help them develop better, especially since I would like to use them to take care of my orchids and my skin as well. Unfortunately for the moment mine are not sufficiently developed so that I can use them for anything. Good for you. Rosalie

    Most of the time, I only dry Aloe Vera cuttings if it is rotting. If your soil is safe from bacteria and fungus, no need to dry. If you're cutting a small or medium Aloe Vera, no need to dry. If you're not sure about the soil specially if you're using a compost soil and you're cutting a big Aloe Vera, it is safe to let it dry first. If the Aloe Vera you're cutting is used to sun exposure, no need to place it in shaded area.

    When you put this plant for rotting in the soil we have to give water and we have to keep in shady area or in direct sunlight.

  • @TheAloeVeraGarden

    @TheAloeVeraGarden

    3 жыл бұрын

    If you place it under direct sunlight, the plant may wither a little bit and the tip of the leaves may turn brown but it will recover when it starts to grow roots in 2 to 3 weeks time. If you place it under shade, you won't notice any changes except the thinning of the leaves a little bit. You don't have to water the plant if it has not develop roots yet. The plant is almost 90 percent water and it is more than enough to supply sustain itself while it is growing roots. You can start giving little water in 2 to 3 weeks depending on how fast the plant develop roots.

    I don't know what you mean by bumpy, I could only guess like it's not smooth and looks like it has lumps. It usually happens when the leaves are healed from being are scratched, pricked, or wounded. Sometimes they even leave a dark mark or spots. That's why I always make sure the plant leaves are not scratched.
