Lucky scar!

A sort of commemorative copper betta warrior sticker would be really cool. Something showing the wounds he survived, and some kind of armor and a devilish smile. Lol

I’ve had my betta sine he was a baby, I’ve had him in a community tank the whole time and he is thriving. I think because he grew up around the other fish he just got used to them. The actually play nice together too. I’d call him ‘squeeze’ cause he squeezed himself into trouble ❤️🇦🇺

Glad you didn’t film that part, some people would and it is just awful. Glad you focused on the betta and saving it

Betta fish are so much like hounds lol. Always hungry, smarter than you think, and quick to find the most ridiculous way to injure themselves.

I had one get stuck on the bottom of an internal filter. Twice. Now I only have sponge filters in my betta tanks. I say name him after one of the people that escaped from Alcatraz. 😁

I had the same thing happen to one of my gouramis once. This rock in my tank makes a little cave for my bristlenose catfish, and there is a little hole in one spot the whole way through, and he must have tried to follow one of the tetras through the hole. I spotted his head sticking through, so me and my mum spent forever trying to get him out. 4 months later he acts like it never happened, but I plugged up the hole.

Clown Loaches are notorious for doing that. I had a big hollow log with many caverns and holes in my 125 gallon. First the largest one disappeared and the other two followed suit. I didn’t see them for a couple days so I started searching. Picked up the log and two fell out and the big one was stuck. Saw his tail sticking out and he was stuck! We had to bust open the decoration to get him out and he was alive and fine afterwards

My Betta is the same way. He literally babysits my fry when they outgrow the breeder basket. He doesn't care about anything but sleeping and his food.

Had a similar issue with my first betta disappearing the first couple of days. Finally found him wedged behind the filter. Luckily he hadn’t hurt himself but there was a couple of hours of worried searching.

Since he’s such a good buddy to his companions and copper, you could name him Copper, as in the Fox and the Hound.

Just treated my Betta for fin rot. Aquarium Salt: 1 Tbsp Salt per 1 Gallon of Water. Left him in a week changing the water every day. Now hes on the mend!

My betta did something similar. I still don’t know exactly what he did, but one day I noticed he was not leaving a corner, wasn’t coming out to eat or see me. These were very unusual behaviors for my betta who was my buddy. I got him out of the corner and saw a wound near his gill and his fins were split up. He looked like he had been in a major battle, but he was in a tank with just Cory’s. So I figured he got himself stuck somewhere. In any case I put him in my small hospital tank with Maracyn. I figured it was a lost cause, but I had to try. Fast forward a week and his big wound is healing, he is back to his old self and is eating like a pig. I also bought a new tank that I have built and scraped especially for my betta so he has a place to hide and no where to get stuck. He will have a buddy as I bought an L134 Leopard Frog pleco to share the tank. When the tank grows in. I will probably add some Blue Dream shrimp from my other betta tank as well. Need to make sure there is enough -lantern cover first though. By the way, my bettas name is Titan. I highly recommend Maracyn and Fritz products, and I am not a sponsor, just someone who has a lot of aquariums and has used a lot of different products.

Same experience. Mine swam into his filter. He was in the filter column. Came out totally shredded. Fins torn up but he was perfectly fine.

You mentioned a possible future video about the community tank and betta and I'd love to see it. I've read (and there's bound to be conflicting info) that ppl are having better luck with the king (?) bettas. Might be something to touch on? Of course it always comes down to the individual fish and tank and tank mates etc etc etc.

I don't understand why... but out of all possible fish... only bettas get into situations like these 🙈 I have so many stories of bettas getting into the most odd situations. They seem to really like living on the edge and taking risks

@aquapro, Something similar happened to me. my betta got stuck in a shrimp cave with holes and he got his heat stuck in one of the holes. I thought he was a gone. I panic also but I had to push him back and it was not good. because he looked like he got his fins top and bottom fins cut off. like someone had trimmed it. I was upset. but I treated him with maracyn and stress coat for like 3 weeks. I took the cave out and he is looking good. I'm glad your betta is ok and thanks for sharing.

I have a male betta living with snails and ghost shrimp, and they all do their own thing. He's hasn't tried to kill any of the shrimp.

I've always kept my betta's in community tanks. Maybe it's only been good luck but I've never had any aggression issues. They've all ignored the other fish and the other fish ignored them. Now, I don't keep them in super small tanks (I've had them in anywhere from 10-40 gallons) so I'm sure that helps; but even when I started out with 10 gallons I never had problems. I have 1 male betta at the moment, living it up in a 40 gallon community tank and all is well. I feel like it only offers more enrichment in their lives and I find them all to be happy fish. All of my betta's that I've had have lived long lives as well as the community fish they roomed with. You'll get no complaints from me; I enjoy seeing other people doing the same. None of your fish seemed stressed. You know what you're doing and I doubt you'd leave them all in there if it was an issue. The people that say something just don't know.

Interesting video how to take extra care for your Bettas it’s very helpful tip worth knowing about. I think you should name your fish warrior.

Cudini - A bit like Houdini but starting with Cu, Cu being the chemical symbol for copper.

I had one get stuck in the intake tube of a hang on the back filter on a nano tank, so I know how you freaked out! I got the koi betta girl out, treated her for the damage and she did survive that.

I’m so glad your fish is okay. I would have been freaking out too. I’m really new to this hobby. I left a comment on one of your older videos about Jeff with the fin rot. I need some advice asap. My betta looks just like Jeff did with the fin rot. We treated our fish with some fin rot treatment but it didn’t work. Can I contact you with photos of my fish I would love to know if he does in fact have fin rot. Now one of his front fins is getting smaller. I’m really nervous and stressed out. I don’t want him to suffer and he may not be able to swim soon. Thank you.

idk.. out of my 4 Bettas have been chill, sweet fish. they were all long tails tho and the turbel maker was a plakat

My male betta is pretty chill and lives just fine with my drawf cories and colorful endlers.

I tried a betta in a community once. He was also super chill. Unfortunately, it was my first serious tank, and I made a bunch of mistakes that cost me him and most of the other fish in there. Now I keep bettas solo with some snails.

Please lower the water level or get a lid. Bettas can jump as much as 6". You don't want anything else that can risk his life. As you mentioned, they also love to squeeze into holes that are too small for them. They get stuck behind filters, stuck in decor and small holes. They also need decor that is smooth and won't rip their long, delicate fins. I love that you have a male betta in a community tank. Some bettas are too aggressive for tank mates, but a lot of them are just fine. A back up plan is needed, just in case it doesn't work out.

I have kept my bettas in tanks with other fish and always been successful. They get a bad rap. I just don’t put them with other bettas.

I've kept many male Bettas in community tanks and they have shown no aggression to the other fish, nor have they had their fins nipped. I don't think they like total isolation with no stimulation.

That tank is kind of perfect for a Betta. I have a large tank with several "cages" made of window screen and some plastic mesh to allow me to have 1 tank housing 3 males and a single female. Not trying to get babies , and due to small apartment I have to keep them like this. Lease ends in late Summer and will be moving to larger place and fishkeeping conditions will be changing after moving to the new place.
