That was really good. Great safety and double checking. The only thing that I would add, is that I close each belly valve before removing the loading head. Every once in a while, the o-rings on the loading head go bad and it will spray a stream of fuel at you if it is under pressure from the belly valve being open.

Nice video, I wondered what the loading process was like. I expected you to open the domes on top of the trailer when loading & unloading, the big vent line must be enough to equalize the pressure.

@@dethklokicksbutt thanks, great explanation on venting and capturing the fumes when unloading a tank trailer. 20 years Back I saw a tanker trailer collapsed in a tow company yard, was told it happened cause the domes were not opened. Will have to watch all your videos.

Local Tanker pays more compared to dry van and refer where I am from; hence why I chose tanker after obtaining my cdl A.

The tankers I have pulled....dry bulk pneumatic and liquid carbon dioxide for praxair pays very well and i never have to sit at dock...unload as soon as I get to where I'm going

What do you do if you load the wrong compartments?

How heavy are the hoses? I am thinking about transitioning from dry van to this type of work. I am not weak but I wonder if it would be too heavy for me. Isunloading the fuel more difficult?

I know at our terminals here, that’s an automatic lockout. One terminal I think might do a life ban for that. Definitely not a habit to get into. The potential for danger is very real.

What purpose does the scully serve, and how fast can a tanker this size get loaded at a terminal?

The scully is mostly to prevent from overflow when loading. Each compartment has a probe inside at a set height that if the fuel reaches a certain overflow level it will stop flow. Depending how many compartments you load at a time and the flow rate of the fuel arms they can be loaded in 8-15 minutes

At what point is the Gas station (company) specific " fuel additive" added to the tanker?

@@itruck96 what's up? How does the driver know how much additive to add? Does he have a work order that tells him how much to put in the load? Can the driver accidentally put in to much additive? On purpose or by accident?

@@RS-qp4bpEverything is taken care of by the supplier. The drivers are only responsible for picking the correct type of fuel and gallons needed. If the driver accidentally stops the loading process prematurely, it will ruin the fuel because the mixture will be wrong.

@@itruck96 can you think of a condition/situation where too much additive was added to the fuel load which in turn made the fuel "gummy"? Because that is what happened to the fuel that I bought at a station. Note: I do not put any over the counter additives/octane boosters in the fuel tank.

@RS-qp4bp Every car would have the same problem. I believe each station tank has four filters so i'm not sure what happened in your situation. Diesel will gel up in freezing conditions.

Last time I checked you got locked out if you had your phone out and video taping they have Camers all around the loading fuel rack and have signs posted NO Phones nor No Videotapeing I hope his company seen this and fired him for not following the fuel loading rack rules
