These are professional runners, they do this for bread, to make a living, they better have a good form they can't afford not to. I on the other hand have been a runner since I was 12, always loved to win races at school, and now even with 4 kids my dessert after husband gets home is to be able to go for my 4 mile run 6 days per week. My form isn't like his, I look down all the time, I'm fit (in my own opinion) I've never had an injury except for 2018 shin splint due to bad shoes. I make all the mistakes most new runners make but because I've been running for so long, it just works for me. Every runner is different. Some flap there hands everywhere, some run with mouths wide open and gasp, some have the arms glued to their waist (me) so many ways of running... The only thing I look for is.... Will changing so and so just to look like a good runner infront of people who aren't even watching going to cause me an injury... Just run how you run... Especially if it works for you

Head down on a start from blocks. The key is to get as much drive forward in the early part of the race. There are also other details, but watch elite athletes (both men and women) and you’ll see their head comes up slowly and it typically takes 10 or 11 strides to be completely upright. Standing up too quickly is something you commonly see in inexperienced or poorly trained sprinters (such as most high school sprinters). USA Track and Field has some excellent materials on coaching various track and field skills, and some good quality (and reasonably priced) courses on how to teach them, starting from the beginner level and progressing upward.
