How to RUIN Your Drill Press
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
There are so many uses for the drill press in leather craft.
In a recent Live Q&A with the Big Stacks Family, I answered a question about many things you can do ... but I also covered something you should never do with it.
My drill press is a vintage Craftsman from the 1940s, and even as sturdy as it is, I don't do anything which may damage it.

I’m a very tactile person and there is something about working with hand tools that makes me feel more relaxed

@Nicksleather I love working with hand tools as well, for the same reason and many more. Thank you for sharing.
I use two sizes of modified shot filled mallet for numerous tasks. It won't rebound and doesn't damage the tools your striking. The rivet /snap press is worth the investment if You are doing any production work . Lets face it anything in leather working is EXPENSIVE .

@vieuxacadian9455 To do solid production work, you will definitely pay the price to speed up the process. But, if someone were to get started in leather craft as a hobby, basic beginner tools will not break the bank.
Wawak Sewing has a nice press to use that is very nice and a bit more wallet-friendly. I love mine!

@revan33 I'm going to have to look into that. Does it work good with leather?

@@bigstacksshop, it is the reason I purchased it. Setting grommets, eyelets and making holes! I found it also works great with my small stamps also. Very handy tool.

@@revann33Thank you very much. Is that on Amazon or just plain old www?
I make knives and sheaths myself and have always used hand tools. There is something special about using hand tools and finishing a tough project.
