Shane, I’m a 65 years old man and thank also to your shared videos, I’m really having so much fun and sense of flowing like a surfer on the street almost every day here in Rome. So much inspiration from you! Thank you!

Cracking video buddy. I practiced this yesterday on my surfskate and then in the water and it definitely helped tighten my cutback up. You do this weird thing with your pivoting arm's hand where you turn the palm to the sky and sort of point where you want to go with your thumb. When I did that it mate a BIG difference I think it helps open the chest up, not sure, but it 100% helped me. Cheers.

Love your channel, for us regular skaters out there I found a cool tip. If you have trouble watching goofy footed skaters and applying to your practice use a mirror to flip (or if watching on a desktop, use a flip the flip option on your display settings. U can Google a tutorial) I love this channel but I'm regular footed so I just wanted to put this out there just in case people are having a hard time. Thankyou Shane. You are an amazing teacher.

Shane, super grateful for your tutorials! I'm 50 yr old dude in LA who used to surf and just started getting into surfskating because it such a welcome opportunity to get out of the house during quarantine and feel the effects of surfing w/o lugging all the gear, wearing a wet suit and the rest of that major production which I don't have time for. What I appreciate is that I can do it every day for like an hour with my music and it is like that one hour of freedom and exercise for me that I consider essential. BUT. I have never gotten so many injuries in my life! My last major one was eating it on my elbow (not once, but twice) and falling improperly on my wrist. As an older guy, it takes twice the time to heal compared to when I was in my 20s. A lot of people are telling me NOT to do this because I will more than likely get injured again but I can;t help it because I am now addicted to it. But I know like all sports, your body and your senses need to acclimate to certain types of injuries (like in football or rugby) and you develop a sense of how to at least avoid major injuries as you get deeper into a sport. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind a) talking about your history of injuries with surfskate and b) if possible, do a video on how to fall and avoid falling (i.e. skate, wear proper gear etc.) My first injury was because I didn't know that I should kick the board a little before I enter a driveway with a major ledge. I know it sounds like a dumb thing to do, but as a beginner, I had to learn the hard way, and boy did I get hurt bad. Honestly, I'm lucky to have all my front teeth. Sorry for the long message but I think it's an important video to get out there because I've recently heard due to quarantine, lots of people are picking up skating and getting horrendous injuries. if you can't no worries. I had to ask because I dig your vids. Thanks for doing what you're doing Shane!

I always prefer softer wheels with more contact patch. If you want to maintain grip when you turn, lower your stance and smoothen the carve a bit. The more sudden and fast the change in direction and bodyweight, the more chance the wheels lose traction
