I'm in day four of practice and everytime l go on them it feels like the first time again. Once l can shake the nerves I'm fine...not trying that crossover move just yet LOL...😲😵😔😬😝

Oh my gosh ME TOO, I love DD's pep talks!!
Also want to say to all the beginners...I know crossovers seem impossible but YOU WILL GET THERE!! In the beginning of March, I never thought I would ever be able to do them! Just like Deb says...stay down low at first and practice, practice, practice!! Much love to all of you!!
I’m an expert at being in a constant state of panic so I’m already half way there 😂 Thank you for sharing your experience. I always hear your voice in my head when I’m skating and I’m constantly chanting ‘Down with the butt Up with the gut, snack area nice and tight! Down low! Bend the knees!” I get strange looks, but it works! 😂

Yes, that's the S-A-F-E-T-Y chant skatey dance! when I hit a scary section of trail, or a bunch of wild scooters are heading my way and dogs on flexi-leads are all over the path and there's a hill.... I revert to small, sticky feet bubble skating and chant (silently) "down with the butt, up with the gut!"

“Do I look cute? I feel cute!” Umm me every time I fall over 😂
This was a great tutorial - as every other from you. I think, they aren't just informative, but also very entertaining. If you ask me, you should have your own TV-Show.

OMG! TV SHow! How crazy would that be!!!
I did my first ever crossover yesterday and in my mind all the time was playing your videos "shift your weight to one side, lift your feet and cross it over". Been skating for two months and almost everything I've learned it's because of you, thanks for the amazing content :)
“Do I look cute I feel cute” lmao I love her
I've been practicing on my new outdoor wheels. Oh man, what a difference. You are right Dirty, I can do the same techniques both indoors and outdoors but with the appropriate equipment. I feel much more confident!
Bought my first pair of sure grip boardwalk skates the other day. I’m so excited to practice all summer!

I got them about a month ago, upgraded from Impalas, I found them very comfortable from the get go, I guess everyone's experience is different. I really love them though, the Impalas were actually holding me back.

I told my son to do this, learned it here 🤣.... He gets huge big and falls backwards 😬😔. We can't be going to hospital during covid 😬
I had to take a day off from skating yesterday because the day before I worked on my crossovers so hard that my left "bum" knee was killing me!! My daughter is a champ at them and she is 9 and we have been skating for about 3-4 months together!!!
I just love your videos! that’s why I started skating again, I have not skated for 35 years, I am now 56 and you brought me back my old love, and watching your videos makes me so happy!😊
When she walked sideways, I fell out. 😂 😂 😂 Love this woman. 💜
This video helped me SO MUCH! I’ve been relearning roller skating since January, and back in my high school days, I skated around my garage in circles crossing over like nobody’s business. Now, not so much. Been practicing standing crossovers, bubbles, scissors, rolling on one leg. After I watched this video - I got low. My outside foot crossed, and magically, my inside foot (which never knew what to do it seemed) just lifted right up ready to place down and cross again. And that was on my non-dominant side! I’m so excited! Thank you Dirty!!!
I would love tips on how to skate on different surfaces outdoors. I feel so much resistance when i skate cautiously outside but inside i can be cautious and still move.

I used to skateboard in that area in Long Beach when I lived in Cali. Now I'm back in my home state of Florida and I've started roller skating again after 35 years away from it. I literally just last week was able to successfully do crossovers because of your instructional videos. I was always too scared to try them on my own because I kept looking down at my feet because I didnt want to get my skates tangled up. (I now know that looking at your skates or the floor in general is no bueno) Thank you for everything you do for the community!! ❤
So awesome to see you skating on a basketball court. I have done so much basketball court skating over the years. Never on a beach though. What a beautiful setting. Happy skating! And everyone needs to practice in both directions. This is so important.

What a great teacher been she's been skating for over 50 years. I think she knows what she's doing
i just wanted to say thank you. obe started maybe a month, month and a half and your lessons helped me. i want to skate outside but it's scary. today I've found myself a baseball court and try for the first time on it. trying to do those 20 minutes practice sessions now instead of going for hours at the rink, which hurts more than it actually helps. I almost finally got those backwards bubbles down today, hope next time I'll get them! and accidentally had my feet staggered while i roll over a mini twig. i was so happy to see how well that worked! i also I'm working on my "happy feet" and keep telling myself not to look down! i was starting to doubt myself, but now, even if it's very slow, i see my progress (example : it takes me less time to find my balance everytime now, I've realized fear was the issue and once i stop panicking, I'm better). i know this is a long post. but i just wanted to say thank you. (35 yo here, didn't skate in forever it seems) 😁
I got my new skates and i super excited to get myself used to them. Been binge watching a lot of her videos! I've been so sad cause nothing around me has motivated me. Work isnt just cutting it either. But skating is helps a lot! Im so happy!

Debbie .. you are the best teacher I found online. I applied your slogan to all the classes i teach. I tell my students please please practice... I skate now in my class room and tell my students if I can learn this at 40 by patience knowledge and practice, you can do anything. Thank you again for great instructions. 🙏🏼
Deborah is our skate fairy Godmother!! Love you and your trainings. Thank you soooooo much!!!!
It's taken me about a month of practice and it's finally clicked today 🥳🥳😀😀 Thank you x

Its funny with the cupboard. 🤣🤣🤣You motivate me a lot Dirty!!! Everytime I fall, I could hear you saying... UP UP UP!!!
I ordered some skates and will get them in 5 to 10 days. I can't wait. I have skated before but never been taught how until I started watching your channel. Before I used to watch ppl skate and think, wow they're good. But I was like a robot. Lol! Now that I see you showing us how to do all these things it is looking so natural and makes so much more sense. Thankyou for all of your videos! Love from East Tx
I went to a smooth parking lot next to my house. Put on your video and got to practicing. I was so happy with the progress I made and just 2 hours of solidly practicing. Thanks for sharing your awesome skills in such easy to understand ways.
You are the best! I’m at the cross-over stage in my skating. Practice, practice, practice is so true! Looking forward to practicing cross-overs all week!! Thank you!
Yes! I've been waiting all week for this!
Please don't ever change, ma'am. You're imperfectly perfect. Great videos.
I love this channel.
Got dizzy watching you, but still in awe! 🤩
I never was so early... I'm excited your so great 💖
So I am a bit late, but honestly I was having so much trouble with crossovers and went across many videos (as I was failing all) but then came across this vid. I got my crossover today and you can do it too if you practice and if you are still having trouble you can work on some drills to help! Thank you dirty school of skate
You make it look so easy I guess that’s why you’re a pro! Love you!
Is very exciting Deborah.
PLEASE continue making video for...like...ever! You are awesome. Your videos have helped me so much, thank you.
I love you !! You are so great !! Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I appreciate you.
Yay! I can’t wait to practice this!!!’
I bought roller skates 3 days ago... Impulse buy, I know.... I did a bit of roller blading bout 9/10 years ago and wanted to get back into it. I found you a day later and I bloody love your videos! So much information and so well explained! Really helpful, I'm already more comfortable and in control. THANK YOU! If I ever come to California (I live in the UK), I really hope I can get a 1-2-1 lesson with you!
Thank you so much!! I love that you talk about practising so much! I’m really hard on myself when I can’t do think straight away and even though I know that I need to practise to be able to do it and then to do it well it really helps hearing someone say it! Xxx
This was so incredibly helpful!! I'm able to turn my corners like you are in the video, I just need to start picking up my right foot and BALANCE!! I've become a master at falling and getting back up. Thank you so much, your videos are so helpful! Xo
Not only are all of your videos so helpful, but you seem like such a fun, kind and cool person!

This helped me so much!!❤️
I absolutely loved doing crossovers. In speed skating it’s insane how much speed you get by doing crossovers really fast. Totally awesome!!!! Just found out about you and I already luvya!!😊💗
I finally did it last night! It took me about a month of practice! Thanks a lot for all your tutorials Dirtydeborah!
My skates came in yesterday and i am genuinely very grateful you take the time to make these videos. From falling , stopping and keeping my balance you legit saved my butt. I picked it up pretty fast only because I had such an informative teacher. I had groovy music playing and i was dancing while cruising and it was such a floaty/ethereal feeling. Ty ty ty 💖❤
You are awesome! If I'll ever visit in your area, I'll come to your skating place!!!

Hello from Canada! Dirty thank you SO MUCH for your videos! It was a long winter this year with the pandemic and practicing with your videos in my small basement was what kept me sane!
Your videos make me so happy and excited to practice! Sometimes I'm a bit intimidated by the idea of having to get everything right and your videos push me to go out there and make mistakes! :) Thank you!!

I have really started to understand how this works...I'm past the fear for the most part, and it's a much more fluid movement... What I struggle with now is controlling the speed, as this move helps me pick up momentum. It's been fun picking up lil' nuiances each time I practice. Thank You for making these tutorials and imparting all that good skating knowledge. Also, dropping low has saved my skin more than once 😻
Heck ya! Thanks Deb
you’re such an inspiration! i hope one day i will be able to roller skate as amazing as you!💗very useful video>:))
Such good advice to get my skates on for at least 10 minutes a day. If I get them on, just for a hallway skate I ALWAYS want to skate more. And that equals more practice. THANK YOU DIRTY ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
You are such a great teacher. Concise, funny, talented, and encouraging. I wish you could teach me everything LOL

This is so true. Skating low allowed me to slowly learn cross over with confidence and without that feeling insecure. Thank you my skating godmother 🛼❤️
Hey, let's give a shout out to the excellent camera work, too. Smooooth 😎😀
I have been doing crossovers for a while now but I still get wobbly sometimes, especially before I am fully warmed up. So I immediately get low like you say to, and just ride it out until I feel steady again. What I love about outdoors too, is the freedom to practice clockwise skating. My clockwise crossovers are actually stronger than the counterclockwise ones.
I’m trying this Tuesday but I’m laughing at all your words “fun zone” lol I love this
I used to skate all the time then I had my three sons but I think they are old enough to get them into skating I really love your videos it helps me to learn all over again so I can teach them my oldest will be 7 in January my other two are 3 and 4
I love you Deborah♡♡♡♡ I admired your skills♡♡
Thanx a lot also 4 this 1😊I think the thing is to relax more... its going to make the difference at least in myself helps.. And also doing some stretching exercises otherwise after something aches.. 😟
I was trying crossovers today and thought of you I should have watch this at the skatepark! I am gonna try your exercises I my right side is better than my left but I still get nervous crossing over I can barely pick up my left foot to actually crossover. Thanks so much! You rock!
i love you so much, thank u for the helpful video
I just watched it at dinner time and now I’m at the car park, practicing as you told! It works!! Im so happy!!! Cheers from Bali 🌴

You are the best!
I' very rarely did cross overs as a kid because of the slight fear of face planting but I think I'll give this a go. Just got new outdoor airwaves wheels and rollerbones bearings and they've allow me more freedom and movement so feeling a bit more confident at trying stuff now
I get off in 10 minutes. Just wanted to let you know you honestly motivated me to get back to practice this morning cause I almost just gave up. When I crossovers my legs be so tight together I panic, cause when I crossover and those two wheels be barely on the ground I think I’m bout to fall
Not only are you an amazing teacher, but I feel like I am hanging out with a friend💗 thank you.

Welcome aboard! Keep practicing and soon you will be teaching others!!!
Did this after practicing going backwards and forwards, and even though I'm still very timid when I skate, trying out crossovers was both terrifying and exhilarating 🤣 I fell once but I kept going like a wild child, for once I didnt mind going faster than normal, it was so much fun!
I came back to skating, and right now trying to figure out cross overs, (among other stuff like backwards sk) I could do it (self taught) with inlines, which was the last type of skating I did like 20 years ago, and also used extensible quads when I was a little, never artistic skates like the ones I got now, and now it feels so different with quads doing cross overs. Your videos are very useful. Also let me point that baby toe of left foot is last to leave the floor, which I think comes natural because we are also with weight mostly on front outside edge
You're amazing!! Ty for being my cheerleader

Thank you so much yess I wil practice 🧡❤️💙
I totally bailed doing this 2 days ago, first skinned elbow of my adult skating life! lol (I knew I should have looked for my pads) One direction I'm super awesome at it (apparently muscle memory from my youth) and the other can't seem to manage, not sure why. But now I've found your video and I'll try again! I wish I could practice every day, we get a lot of rain up here in BC and don't really have anywhere to skate indoors. Thanks for the tips!
I've been practicing everyday I enjoy ur videos . I hope to roll up in the rink one day hoping for it to be open soon 🖤
Dirty I just love your teaching style so much. Very informative and entertaining! Would be great to see a video on how to stop when approaching someone on skates - let's say you see a friend that you wanna say hi and give a hug to without sweeping them off their feet (: Thank you!

What a beautiful basketball court! I wish I knew where to find one like that around here... Just gravel, asphalt, and bad, broken up asphalt... I feel like these roads are death traps with wheels on my feet. I do not feel safe - at all!!! Besides, now we have had almost a full week with pouring rain! Yay! Summer in Norway...
