To avoid tangles, the ideal finish is a bit of heat shrink over the Sinker, when you are joining the split rings
Very cool
I’m going to fish that on my bass rod with my komodo! Thanks Steve! See you in few weeks

Oh Tony. 😅
Looks like Nate is “growin’ it out” for summer. 😂😂😂 lookin like Benny Blanco’s cousin….
Great video, but I would explore the videos out there showing mono is more abrasion resistant than flouro..it’s interesting
Wow ! My bomb really got famous.

What size line is the safety line
Are you using a single or double barrel crimp? Thanks for all the videos. I really enjoy them here in Wisconsin. Hopefully the fishing will still be good in November.

Great video. Have you guys actually seen the brass eyes pull out of the lead before? Seems strange that it takes 50 lbs to pull mono through a crimp that’s not crimped. Wonder how many pounds it would take to pull the brass eyes out of the lead that’s completely formed around the brass eyes.

Personally I have not and I have only ever heard of a couple breaking. But in a long fight against a big Bluefin it could happen and that would be a heartbreaking way to lose a fish!
Damn I have some 16oz lying around. I’ll make it myself

Thanks guys, but a bit much. Took a 16 oz torpedo, put a 12/0 hook on it, painted it with glow paint and a few 6 inch feathers and Voila, 2 tuna over 100 pounds on the Old Glory last year.

There are numerous ways to rig up one of these, obviously this is just a guide & people can adjust how they want to.

@@FishTheLegend For sure. The trick it seems, is being the first one to get the right depth and a 16 oz torpedo will do that. Im guessing at 300 plus feet the tuna dont care too much about hooks, color or much else. They see movement and bite............or not !!!

Yep exactly. All about being in the right place at the right time.
Is 12oz also good to have for Eddie bomb or just 16oz and above all I need? Trying to lighten my gear.

12 oz will work! Just depends on the current and conditions if you would need to go heavier.
What kind of knot do you use on the swivel ?

Doesn’t super matter, something like the San Diego would be perfectly fine.
You mentioned flouro. Is the bomb used during the day???
@FishTheLegend

It’s used at night. We are using fluoro for it’s abrasion resistance.
What size 3 prong hooks for the Eddie Bomb?

@@randalleversole917 5/0 and up generally
easier to use good split ring with 2 assists directly to split ring (at the top), then use whatever heavy torpedo sinker you want. treble is overkill and not necessary

As mentioned in another comment, this is just a guide for a fully rigged up set, & people can adjust however they would like to do so 😊 tackle is all personal preference!

All good! We want this to be a community so we definitely appreciate your thoughts & feedback!
From clowning on jigs and bass rods to now using torpedo sinkers for tunas. Socal is definitely an interesting fishery to be in, no doubt.

I don’t listen to all the nonsense. Some get bit but it’s really random. Stick with knife jigs
@FishTheLegend

It all gets bit! These just help you get down to the zone really fast. We don’t think colors matter, it’s really just about being in the right zone & this thing plunges you there.

We’re also not saying don’t use knife jigs, this is just an alternative.
