How To Ride A Pump Track | Blake Teaches GCN's Si Richardson MTB Skills

Спорт

Pump tracks are so much fun, and are an essential playground to develop your MTB skills. With the help of GCN's Si Richardson, Blake talks you through how to use a pump track to get better at pumping mountain bikes, cornering technique and jumps.

Pumping is an essential skill to add speed and fluidity to your riding. Pumping through corners and berms will also add some smoothness to the trail as well as allowing you to pick up speed as you exit a corner. And jumps? Well aside from developing your skills for larger trail features and drops, they just look cool.
Do you ride pump tracks to develop your skills?

Blake, I have shared this video with all my cycling buds to learn your berm techniques (easily transferred to our mountain biking). You are truly graceful to watch and I love how you break this down and piece the teaching together for Si. Keep bringing us the walk through's with others. And thanks Si for acting like those of us who need the exact same training.

Nice job! These collabs are great! I have passed the stadium of being scared of cornering in a bike park but when cornering in a pump track I’m there again... Probably ’cause the pump track corners are tighter? I know the feeling of being a passenger on the bike in the corners, as Blake mentioned. I think I can get decent speed pumping and when I hit a corner it feels like I’m going crazy fast and I have to slam the breaks because my cornering technique is’nt up to par... As I get it I should start high up on the berm, lean more into the turn and spot the exit?
