We eat mainly whole food, eat take away from vegan restaurant once a week. Barely eat mock meat or make one by myself when I want. We still eat junk food in moderation. The minute we got a text from the schools on that Thursday morning last March 12th, 2020, telling us that they had called early dismissal, and not only that, but when we picked our kids up from school, THAT DAY.. that they would be out of school until further notice and would begin remote learning, date to be announced!! We had heard about coronavirus of course over the prior days, but when I realized they were not even going to let the kids finish out the week.... That's when it hit me, that this was unprecedented in my lifetime, and it got real serious real quick. And that's when I doubled down on what we were eating. Literally, I practically doubled fruits & vegetables, as cheaply as I could, just adding more and different things when and where I could. We increased and also tried to change up whole grains and beans trying new ones and also making sure everybody took a vitamin D supplement everyday. We tried to walk around the neighborhood when it got warm `~ getting fresh air, working on our home fitness areas, etc, and I think just those really basic things became a template for everyone who understood the importance of whole plant nutrition. It just made sense to me that we had to do everything to shore up our health and our immune systems whilst at the same time trying new recipes (thank you Happy Pear and Avant-garde vegan, among others!), and trying to figure out how to use the time, mostly now spent at home, on being as proactively positive as possible, and most of all trying to keep hopeful for everyone, simply trying to put one foot in front of the other and just get on with it. I noticed that people who seemed to accentuate the negative only fell down that rabbit hole deeper and deeper. I think you have to make a conscious decision to just do what you can in the day and look forward to enjoying life as it had been before covid. I hope everyone has found ways to not only cope, but grow spiritually while fighting to stay well. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost a dear one, even more than one. Beyond that I don't have any answers or advice, except to say, PLEASE go vegan, everyone, if you haven't already, and take care of yourselves and each other.

I've just found out I have long COVID. I got COVID back in January and it took me months to recover. I thought I was good. But still stuffed fatigue. 6 weeks ago I got a severe tonsillitis infection and ended up in hospital. Although my tonsils went down after a couple of weeks I started getting chest pain and shortness of breath. Then the extreme fatigue set in. 3 weeks ago I started a wfpb diet no oils. 2 weeks in, no change, if anything I got worse. Day after day in bed, brain fog, I developed a cough. And any excursion would set of breathlessness. Four days ago I started wfpb raw diet. I'm still waiting to see if it can help. I'm still mostly bed bound. I'm really praying that raw food wfpb will help me.

Dr. Goldner is a beautiful soul and great speaker! Thanks so much for this interview! Also, when my mom began to follow a largely plant-based diet, she was able to get rid of many pills and medicines she took regularly because diet helped not only to migitate symptoms of diseases/disfunctions in her body, but reverse the disease itself. She didn't immediately stop taking medicine in place of diet, but eventually her diet become a regiment of her personal health that slowly but surely replaced her medicine. In that sense, food plays a part in our health as surely as does medicine! I liked the distinction Dr. Goldner made about medication vs diet.

I’m a teacher. During the height of the pandemic, in FL, we only taught online from the end of March to May. After summer break, in August, we went back to school. I taught for an entire school year with students and staff out with COVID and I didn’t get COVID (on my diet where I ate everything). The following school year, I decided to try keto, I was on keto for 7 weeks, and got COVID. Not only that, but the symptoms lingered for almost a year, and I lost more than half of my hair. I quit keto right after getting sick, and I’m leaning more toward WFPB. I just wanted to share my story after hearing how much more likely people on keto are to contract COVID, because that certainly was my experience…my standard American diet kept me healthier than keto did.

They are all in the same family, but most people settle for sensationalism on TV which told everyone 5M people would die by summer of LAST YEAR. Summer came and literally less than 1% of that death toll came to fruition, and it was people with serious preexisting health issues, so technically Covid just tipped them over the edge that they put themselves on with poor lifestyle choices. Dealing with a cold, flu, pneumonia, bronchitis, covid, is not pleasant, but only a VERY small percentage have to fear death. Keep treating yourself well, and you won't be sorry. :)

@@consciousobserver629 they are warning of worst case scenarios not trying to predict actual outcomes. Lots of mask mandates and lock downs etc slowed the spread. Hospitals got more practice and got better at treating patients with bad cases. Those hospitals due to reduced spread were not overwhelmed so fewer people died. Also the mass death estimates increases in death because of less hospital beds available etc. You can look at the worst case scenario and be like well, we did lots of the recommended things to reduce the death toll…so the death toll was lower…so they are lying. That’s not how modeling works.

Bless her heart. Even as a top doctor who recommends food as medicine, she got Chemo which is from Big Pharma and known as controversial with its side effects and toxicity, but most importantly glad she survived with using proper nutrition as a weapon. Similar analogy that can be applied to for people taking vaccines and using healthy eating and proper nutrients and lifestyle.

I healed myself from being floxed by fluroquinalone antibiotics by first, giving up dairy then shifted into fully vegan. Plus Golden Milk nightly. I had also been told by the doc I'd be on losec (for night reflux) the rest of my life. Within 2 weeks of quitting dairy I've not had another losec in 8 years. No issue.

Personally I don't like most doctor's attitudes, I have Dr friends. I liked what she is saying and her experience and perspective. Look how much she said attitude affects health. I am totally her fan after one video but still feel free to think for myself. Thanks Dr Goldner, you are a sincere and real practioner, too bad you don't have a medical school to teach doctors. I got into Carnegie Melon in the late 70s, visited but the pollution raining down on me from the steel mills was just too annoying. Great talk, thanks Dr Goldner 👍.
