Thanks very much guys, I have never done this as I find the dry yeast pretty cheap, but have just completed an Allagash white whitbeer clone which had 2 whitelabs yeast which cost around £16 for both, Its a beautiful beer so I fancy doing another, this methos will save me about 60% on the costs of making my next batch. Much appreciated!

Don't know if I'm doing this wrong but, the bottom collection jar is a b^t*h to remove even using keg lube, any suggestoins?

I put a shallow bowl under the collection jar before I unscrew the jar. Makes clean up easy👍🍻

In the final jar you had the coffee beans and hop matter at the bottom with the yeast sitting on top. How do you separate the 2?

Great video. Love the how to stuff. Especially the finer details. I see a lot of content about getting the pitch size correct. How are you deciding how much to pitch when reusing yeast?

@@BrewTasteStyle so many facets to brewing good beer! So hard to choose! Maybe something on your kegging process from the Fermzilla. Cold crashing and transfer to get good clear beer.

Pitching the yeast right from the jar or maybe is it better to do a yeast strater?

How much (of this type of yeast) does enough for next batch?

When do you do this? My Tilt is showing that the FG is exactly where it should be only after 3 days... Can I separate it now? Do I have to wait for 7 days of fermentation in order to do this?

my understanding is that after 20 min the yeast is still in suspension so you decant off the heavy matter... coffee and hops and grains etc after the first rinse.

Great video, I just asked the question on Perth homebrew share last week. I'm about to keg my first Biggie clone today and wanted to save the yeast so I could brew another Biggie. I don't have a plate chiller so I normally hot cube. I used the immersion chiller for the Biggie but could only get it down to around 30c. Would you recommend hot cube a NEIPA? Cheers guys

Oh cool. What temp did you cube? You just need to bear in mind if too much hops go into the cube at boiling temp it might increase the disered ibu. I have dropped to 80c to hop stand and cube after 15min with no issues.

@@BrewTasteStyle I didn't cube the first one, I put it in the fermzilla at 30c then into fridge to get down to pitching temp. I was asking if I could cube ? I was thinking of whirlpool at 80c then cube and pitch the next day?

How long is the yeast good for in the fridge?

A month is good. If I keep any longer I would still do a starter.
