And once again a great step-by-step guide for XK enthusiasts who have only used workshops until now. Is noted and implemented later this year. Thank you Paul!

Another great video Paul! The headlights are the one thing that let my XK down, very dulled, rough surface to them! Thanks for the demo and all the tips!

So glad I found your channel. Seems that yours's is the only channel out there for the xk

I use 600 grit on some really bad ones. You have to keep going until all the scratches are gone, then 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3 K sponge pads. Finish with a machine polish and Carnuba wax. Haven't found one yet that can't be made to look almost new.

Thanks Paul, going to try this on mine and see what happens. Always intrigues me how modern lights can go yellow and yet older cars are just fine 🙂

Seems to be some models worse than others. Also weather conditions and locations of vehicles. 🤔

I forgot to mention the other day that meguiars headlight coating if a fantastic product gives protection up to a year on restored headlights, might be worth a look , about £15 I think 👍

That’s a great video again Paul… I was thinking of replacing my headlight as one is so yellow but now will use this method and see if it works for headlights that a really really far gone.

Great job Paul. I used the same method but used T cut after sanding. I used 3m clearcoat UV wipes. You basically wipe over the surface and it sets hard

It is a satisfying job. At some point one headlight on my xk had been replaced due to the old one being faulty, according to its history. So there was a clear imbalance on clarity between the two. So, more or less went with the same method as yourself. I went with 800,1200 then 1800 grit finishing with Menzerna heavy cut compound on a DA polisher. Much much better looking now. Also decided to use E-tech Headlight clear coat as a UV protectant. 4 coats of that to finish off👌How long it lasts, well time will tell.

A marked improvement. At 9.42 Can clearly see the yellowing on the drivers side compared to the passenger side.

I noticed there is some lens deterioration at the top of the lens (in the grey area), will this come out with more time on the sanding or is it something that cannot be rectified?
