For .50 cents a great deal. A working drill now. And clean. Sounds like new. Thanks for sharing. 💯👍

Thanks! It's always surprising what a little grease can do for an old drill. The dry lube on the motors seems to help a lot as well.

Nice project. I agree, that drill still has a purpose.

Thanks! I'll find a purpose for it myself unless I find someone who needs a free drill.

Bought one of these babies at the thrift store last week for $2.50. Got it home and realized I haven't used a drill chuck in years. Found one. Couldn't get the thing to open or close. A spray of WD-40 later.... pow! Works like a champ. Thanks for the advice!

That's great! Once you get these greased and oiled up they'll run for years. The Dry Lube works wonders on cleaning and lubing old motors without leaving a residue.

Thats the first drill I bought back in the 70's I'm not sure what happened to it but it was a great home drill. Every tool has a use and now that one won't be in the land fill. Even though it was a terrible color it worked. Thanks for sharing your expertise

Thanks! I figure them out as i go along. It's wild how many variations of old power tools there are.

Just last year I threw away one of those that I bought in 77 for my business. The chuck was was worn down to where I had to use Vice Grips and finally one of the gears lost some teeth but the motor still ran and it looked like new. To keep the plastic from getting grimy I rubbed it down with a light coat of Pledge after cleaning (fussy but effective).

Thanks for the tip. I never would have thought of using Pledge on one of these.

Black and Decker may have been the first to make bearings that can't be lubed. On mine I tried dropping oil down the rear vent holes.

I guess they figured no one would be using these tools 40 years from when they assembled them.

I’d say you got your money’s worth on this old drill. Looks great. I have the black and decker jigsaw in the same harvest gold. Why couldn’t they just come with a longer cord? 😁 Thank you!

Thanks! Can't beat the price. :) I think some versions of these did come with a longer cord. I saw one recently in the original plastic case and it had the same cord but it looked to be about six feet. Maybe this was a budget version?

good job never know how things work out and if someone needs a good 1/4'' drill will last a long time mixing paint and many other things. sure beats doing by hand

Exactly! Mixing paint would be a perfect role for this drill.
