How To Resolve TMobile Home Internet Connection Issues

Ғылым және технология

Does your TMobile home internet loose connection to 5G and 4G LTE networks? The T-Mobile home internet service setup most definitely has issues staying connected properly and loses signal randomly. So if this is you, I will be going over some solutions that are available to get it working as it should because without "reliable" internet it's not a very good solution for home internet. So here's my review!

    What's up EB3! When I first did my initial setup I got that "ATTENTION" message on the first and second try. I looked at the sim card and realized it wasn't snug fit in its slot. I pushed it all the way in and bingo! I finally got setup! I pushed the sim card door closed and there was the "ATTENTION" message once again! The card dislodged again! I pushed it back in and got service once again! This time I left the door partially opened and haven't had a problem since.

    I had the KVD21 modem. The fast modem FAST 5688W is way better for most people. I had the same problem message. Several times a week. I finally moved the modem to a new location. Now I only get one bar but my download is around 250. I live far from the towers in the country. Tmobile does have a new Modem out. Soon we all we have access to it. It has a external antenna option. Plus future proff for new bands. This is the Arcadyan TMOG4AR gateway with a MediaTek T750 modem chipset. It supports numerous 5G and 4G bands including Carrier Aggregation for the potential for huge speeds. Great Video.

    I guess I am lucky. Using the Sagemcom modem I have not had noticeable issues. I did put it upstairs near window/external wall in direction of cell tower. I got long ethernet cable and connected to my router upstairs as well but added mesh nodes to my router. I use internet for internet TV and streaming content as well and have had good experience with TV not dropping for hours on end. If I do have an issue will keep in mind your advice to try the other modem if necessary. Thanks for your informative videos!

    I have had Tmobile internet to the home for about 2 years now. Streaming has worked great. The last two months I have been having buffering issues on both the home internet and my phone. I don't know the cause. I am getting 600 to 800mb down and 50 to 80mb up always. What is going on. I am one block from the tower. Other towers in the area with my phone are doing the same thing. Has T-Mobile over sold band width? When I was at the state fair I only had 1 to 2mb down with band width used-up and could not get on-line, that for sure was a band width issue.

    I've had all three and had disconnect issues with all three. I know for a fact that its the 5G signal and something to do with it switching between 4G and 5G. Right now I have a Askey LTE Wi-Fi Gateway. Its a small white box that can only do 4G LTE for home internet, but it never, and I mean never, has dropped connection. Quality drops, yes, but never flat out disconnects me. I also see they are coming out with another model, G4AR. It has external antennas but I have no idea if they boost cellular connection or merely local Wi-Fi. It does have expanded 4G LTE and 5G bands so that might resolve some issues.

  • @EB3Studios

    @EB3Studios

    I will NEVER deal with Comcast again. A few years ago our business need temporary internet service for just under a year. I was very clear when I signed up that we only needed one year. When I went to cancel the service I was told that I had signed a two year contract and that I still needed to pay the monthly fees for the remaining year! I called back several times and even talked to a number of "managers" but they wouldn't budge. When I asked to see the contract I had signed they emailed a page that looked like someone had written my name at the bottom with a pencil!! Their response was, "Well, you didn't actually sign it. I was an electronic signature." By the way, it often really does matter who you happen to get when you call a company. I called about two months before the second year was over just to make sure there would be no more surprises. I explained everything to the guy I was talking to and he said, "That's terrible! I am going to close your account today so don't worry about paying the last two months."

    Interesting about the "working on the tower" thing because they would look and only once have they told me they were working on the tower in my area. I checked and they had workers at the tower when I got there. I do use an external antenna to boost my speeds with the Nokia trashcan... there is no way im going back to Spectrum... I used the proxicast 2x2 and I got speeds ranging from 100-200Mbps. but lately I have been having lots of connection issues and managed to get the new gateway because of that. Its connected to the old 2x2 antenna and signal has been very steady (no drop outs so far) with uploads ranging from 65-120 and downloads at 65! Can't wait to replace the old 2x2 with waveform's 4x4 MIMO antenna!

  • @Grem135

    @Grem135

    8 ай бұрын

    I forgot to mention that I'm using external antenna ports 1 & 3 to get the faster upload. Once I replace the 2x2 with the 4x4 I should be getting much better download and maybe faster upload too. but anything more than 20 up is a bonus to me since i only got 12 with spectrum.

    @Girlwatchingtheworld10 ай бұрын

    Here are a few tips you never mentioned that work. Do not place your gateway near a lot of power cords. Try and avoid putting it near power cords in your wall. It will affect signal strength. If at all possible do not use your gateway as a router, buy a separate router and connect your gateway to it via an Ethernet cable. When using a router with your gateway make sure your router is up high and centrally located in your home. Do not let the power cable that powers the gateway to be near the Ethernet cable...it will cause signal noise and slow you gateway and router down. Also be sure to look at your signal to noise ratio. It will effect your upload and download speeds more than you might imagine. You can use regular tin foil to block out other signals that can and will interfere with your gateway.

DATA PRIORITIZATION will apply meaning if you use more than 35GB and when there are a lot of users or the tower is congested your connection will slow and for those who are not yet consuming more than 35GB they will be prioritized to have the good service even if it's congested..

    The Acadian is also a POS. Constant drop off, service disconnects that last all day.

    @EB3Studios it does still work Sort of... Speed is slower then my Arcadyan and when it's inside my truck I doesn't get any connection I have to keep it on the roof of the truck to get connection... The Arcadyan I had not only got faster speeds but it got faster speeds in my truck ... I spent hours on the phone with tech support, and they are sending me a new trash can ... They won't send any other kind... The gal on the line told me if I have the same problem call her back and we can discuss getting either a new Arcadyan or there newest modem that can have external antennas hooked up...

    It is all "area dependent" but based on Verizon and AT&T, T-Mobile offers the least amount of coverage.

    If I look online it's not available in my area either. I went to the store and they gave me one said try it out if it doesn't work bring it back within 2 weeks no charge. Had been working great compared to my old internet until today. I was getting 200 down and 20 to 30 up. This morning was getting next to nothing and now I can't get it to work where it has been setting since I plugged it in. Moved it and I'm getting good download speeds again but my upload is under one.

    I have the new white one and honestly it is the worst internet coverage I ever got! I clocked my speeds at 2.7mbps! That is horribly slow I can't do shit and I am pissed! I tried everything and the most I got was 12mbps this home internet is a HUGE HEADACHE! I'm switching to fiber speeds to hell with wifi and T-Mobile I never thought I'd say that Xfinity was better and I hate everything Xfinity!
