How to Replace Your Nintendo Switch's Dock

Does your Nintendo Switch Freeze or overheat when docked? Do you hate the way your dock looks? Do you wish your dock was more portable? Do you want to play using your Joy-Con but don't want to drain your battery?
If so, check out this video on dock case modding. I'll show you how to perform a dock replacement using the original parts of your dock and a replacement case. It should be fully compatible with your Nintendo Switch since you are using all the original parts.
The new case is compact with a minimalist design aesthetic.

But what if my problem is the stock dock, most likely a faulty motherboard? I'm looking for a reliable replacement.

Sorry to hear that. I’m not aware of any reputable replacements. You might want to go to a video shop and pickup a used dock. Even if it’s aesthetically ugly or damaged, that’s just cosmetic. As long as it’s functional, you can always take the insides out of the used one and put it into your current dock.
