I got a 1997 Yamaha yz250 and wanna rebuild it, and make it like new looking, starting soon
Hi mate, nice YZ. To modernise it the most I think black rims does a lot of that. Also if your going to replace the rear plastics again, buy a 2015+ airbox and you can have the more modern looking rear on your same subframe. 7/8 bars with no support seems a bit sketchy to me. I’d be considering going to a fat bar.

The older style air box and plastics will always look better than the 2015+ ! You’re bike looks so good 🙌🏼
Yeah definitely black out the caliper cover thing and fork shields on the front forks.. that’d look way cleaner.. also black the rims
Plastic Kit is nice but that fuel tank makes it look beat. Nice video though.

I’m doing this same thing right. We are blacking out my son’s 2021 YZ250. Ordered the plastics. Then looked at the fuel tank and realized I needed one of those. Then looked down at the blue rims and knew we needed black to really pull this off. And that’s where the expense really came in. New wheel kits were like 2 grand Canadian. So I’m looking into powder coating them! Thanks for the video 😎
