Thanks, I just replaced my window regulator in my 2000 Focus Wagen. It took a few hours, but it wasn't the easiest of work environments trying to change the regulator on a busy NYC street.

thank you for this video! i know it's over a few years old but it helped me fix my window today. my older neighbor stopped to tell me how handy i was and i showed her this video. she was impressed, said "you really can find anything online!"

READ FIRST!!! This video was 99% AMAZING and 1% overlook. Only problem I had was that at the 5:27 he pulls the Door Panel off and it pops the Door Handle off along with it. Mine did not do this and I did in fact end up breaking a clip off. However it appears to be functioning just as good. Did it in 1.5 hours after I got off work at midnight. These videos are so helpful! Thank you very much!

he did get really lucky with that door lever just coming right off. I used a plastic pry tool to pry from BEHIND the circle clip in the center of the door lever and it comes right out. Had to do it 3 times in fact because I forgot the order in which things go back together!

Use an old credit card as a scraper to separate the vapor barrier. Excellent video. Thanks

Done today, thanks this done step by step, never done it. Replaced whole unit including motor same as shown. My watershield was heavey glued was most work to not destroy it. Helped me a lot! Thanks Ed

I'm going to have a Ford focus soon and this type of window problem has happened before in I think it was a Buick we had. But learning how to fix the car myself and always is my goal.

Excellent video. I used it to replace my regulator. The window comes out pretty easy, so I didn't tape mine up. I just pulled it out through the top. Thank you for doing these videos.

Plastic putty scraper from Walmart or local tub and tile/paintstore....could work in place of that blue scrapper...

Great video mate. Any advice if the window is currently all the way up and cannot lower it to loosen the clamp bolts holding the glass?

use a combination of extensions and u-joints on the end of a ratchet to get a bit or socket up to those bolts, that's the only way. small hands/arms help

Try combination or open end or box end wrenches, or whatever tools you have that will loosen the bolts, remember the bolts don't have to come all the way out, they just have to loosen enough to get the clamps on the glass open enough so you can pull the regulator & cables down enough to start maneuvering the regulator out the big hole near the bottom of the door. Once you get the old regulator out, you can re-position the glass with tape again so you can get the clamps good and snug through the larger holes farther down the metal inside door panel. Don't over-tighten and crack the glass!

My passenger window will go up and down no prob from the drivers side door but not on the passenger side door

What is the part number for the scraper you used at 8:30?

My driver side window wont move up or down but i hear the motor spinning. What could be wrong with it? Focus 1.8 tdci 2002

14:47 I'm trying to put a window in my focus, and this piece is broken on my regulator. The metal part seems okay, but the plastic part is broken, and won't mount to the shaft. Can I replace this one section, or am I stuck paying for an entire regulator?

My window is not moving. How can i know if it is the window switch or a window regulator?

Use a multimeter for the switch.

Your videos focus on the fronts, but the problems occur mostly on the rear windows.

Great job on the video…unfortunately not a lot of emphasis on the difficulty of actually manipulating the motor out of the space…and it being almost impossible to do without the spool and cable coming out of the transmission. Once that happens, you’re done! I ended up having to replace the whole regulator with the motor purchased as one part and that was far easier and quicker without the risk of everything falling apart! Good video otherwise though!
