    You, Sir, have just provided the answer to my problem again. After trying and swearing at my car for over an hour, I watched your video and saw how you got the actuator back into the door, and yes, it worked! Thank you so much for this video.

    Hello Sir, I wanted to say how interesting I found your Ruislip Woods walk. I walk through there at least twice a week and really wasn’t aware of all the additional history. Very interesting and thank you.

    My locking button on the passengers door will not move and therefore does not lock. The doors lock and immediately unlock when attempting to lock the car. Can this be fixed or does the door locking device need changing

  • @NigelEaland

    @NigelEaland

    You need to get inside the door and find out what is jamming that button. The locking mechanism probably needs replacing as in the video.

    Some crooks wrecked the key hole part trying to break in. Can you tell me how to change this part and reset it so the original key will work in the lock. Everything else works fine. It is on a 2005 focus.

    You will need to take the whole mechanism out as shown. After that I don’t know the answer. You could talk to Fords and see if you can order a new lock that is keyed for your car or see if you can straighten it out to get it working.

    Hi Marco. Knocking while driving as you describe is usually the suspension bushes are worn out. Do a search on KZread of how to check the suspension. If they need replacing then do both sides of the car as they will be equally worn. It is a problem and would be an MOT failure. Best to get it fixed.

    Hi. My thoughts are to take the lamp off and put some water in it. Your leak is where it drips out. If it has a crack I would be inclined to replace it as cracks can get bigger with vibration. A secondhand part is a small cost. I’ve used 247spares online a few times and you get quite a lot of offers from scrap dealers. Good luck.

    12332pj through the bulb hole. You need to take the whole lamp out first. Does yours have a waterproof cover protecting the bulb? If it’s missing that might be the problem.

    Tricky. Hard to say what to do. Do you think it’s electronic or a mechanical failure? My thoughts as they spill out of my brain. Can you use the key to open the lock? Can you use the internal door release or is it jammed. I think you can take the cover off the internal handle and get to the release handle, perhaps it or the cable has broken. Finally as a last resort butcher the door card to get access to the lock inside. If you succeed you can buy another card from a scrap dealer. You should also phone Fords for advice.

    This is great IF the door is unlocked so you can open it to access the screws to removed trim etc. BUT what if you're faced with my situation... driver door shut & deadlocked. Unable to unlock by remote AND using key in barrel lock. BOTH don't work! 😰

    @@NigelEaland nothing wrong with the fob - locks on all other doors function as normal using it... clearly the physical motorised actuator on the driver door lock has failed but to replace it, I need to reach it, which means removing the interior trim, which requires the door to be open to access to the fasteners, which is impossible because the door is deadlocked! 😖😤

    Got a question for you. I have mondeo mk4 2010 plates. And my seat belt light don't turn on at all or any other warning. Is it off via forscan or could be wiring cutted somewhere and how could i check it Thanks

  • @NigelEaland

    @NigelEaland

    3 жыл бұрын

    I can think of three reasons. The seatbelt alarm is activated by the activation or not of the seat pressure switch, the seatbelt lock switch and the car driving away. Apparently there is a means to disable or enable the alarms which I found described here www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php/Seatbelt_Reminder_-_Turning_Off. I would start by trying to enable the alarm particularly if it’s not working for both the driver and passenger seats. The sensors could be at fault and the car may be thinking there is nobody on the seat or that the seatbelt is locked in place. I don’t know what Forscan will allow you to do but it should at least be able to allow you to see the sensors working. I’ll go and give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for watching my videos. I hope they help.

  • @NigelEaland

    Marco Tavic I could believe that. The gauge sweep is an internal test of the instrument panel. It at least proves the light is working. The seatbelts though operate through the Restrain control module that then sends data over the CAN system to the instrument panel to light the warning.
