Wheel Bearing Replacement: rmatvmc.link/ktm-husky-wheel-...
Wheel bearings are a high wear component that take a lot of abuse while out on the trails. Inspecting and replacing the wheel bearings on your dirt bike is often overlooked but should be a part of regular maintenance. Knowing how to do the job the right way will help save you time and money over taking your bike to a shop. In this video, learn how to inspect and replace the front and rear wheel bearings on a Husqvarna TX300. The process shown will be the same for KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas motorcycles.

Which type of Grease is best for wheel bearing applications 1 Lithium red EP grease nlgi 3 2.methyl lithium red gel grease nlgi 2.5 These are some options which I have in my area
Jeez I’ve never had a bearing job go sooo smooth. You guys make it look super easy. Usually everything is crazy seized lol. I guess I should change ‘em out sooner eh lol.
Another tip, put your new bearings in the freezer for a few hours before installing

Probably doesn't make much of a difference bearings should be sealed bearings..
One click on that torque wrench, not two. As an industrial salesman for Snap-on for years, we did torque demos using calibration devices and found that many guys over-torqued. Anticipate the click, when it comes stop immediately.
Very helpful video. Thanks! Bought the bearings from you guys because of the video.
Your videos are always so helpful.
Good that you included showing the plastic spacer on the rear wheel. So may videos just skip this step. Now I don't have to make a video explaining this!
Just like to thanks 🤙🏽guys…. This was a helpful guide for me when it came to changing my bearings on my 2020 KTM350sxf …keep up the awesome 💪🏾work …Chur Chur
Just did this yesterday. Never saw a spacer washer on my bike - makes me wonder if it never had one or went missing. Time to check the parts fiche - 2012 KTM 500!

@@rmatvmc Thanks. Looks like the 2012 500's never had them.
I always add more grease to the new bearing because there is very little in them and they will wear out very fast, my bearings last me about 🤔 hmm years.

What was the size of the bearing driver front and rear 🙏
You know what the rear axle nut socket size is for the 2023s? It's smaller than 32mm.
@rmatvmc
Жыл бұрын
It should be a 30mm.
Controversial topic warning ⚠️ Do you put extra grease in already greased bearings? I’ve been chalking them full of marine grease with pretty good results. My latest set of NTN looked well greased from the factory so I’m gonna try leaving them stock this time.

It's honestly not a bad idea, some bearings from the factory don't come properly greased. Always a good idea to periodically check all of your bearings and add grease if you feel like there's not enough
so theres enough room even with the spacer inside the hub to put the collet in is there? I need to get a kit of these blind pullers.

Yep, the Tusk bearing remover is perfect for wheel bearings!
Link to the bearing puller and seal puller? Thanks!

How do you put grease in the bearing?
@rmatvmc

The bearings we used for this bike were sealed and didn't need greased. If you have different bearings or you just want to pop the dust cover off and grease them more, you can pack them with grease. We have an older video showing how to pack steering stem bearings and the concept will be the same for wheel bearings. You can check that out here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d5ubyaiDfbqWfNI.html
Why does heating help? Would think it would expand and get tighter.
@rmatvmc

Heating does cause expansion and that's why it helps. Heating the metal around the bearing causes it to expand which makes the bearing come out easier. If you heated the bearing itself that would make it become tighter.

alu expands more hen steel
you actually invite heating up the hub doesn't that ruined the process it's already been done with hardening of it and you know what that's crazy I mean that would soften it making it you know more prone to fail? I mean I wanted to heat it but I stopped myself cuz I didn't change the tempering that was done
@JesseOtt111

Tempering takes hours. The heat from that gun, for only a few seconds-maybe minutes-is not nearly enough to change the tempering of the metal. It does however create minor molecular expansion at tolerances sufficient to reduce the force necessary to remove the bearing.
