I still have the same "made in Italy" knob and it does work well. It does sit higher than the original one but that's actually better I think. The weight of the shifter knob is also quite good and helps with faster shifting. And yes it was purchased from FleeBay.

Yes, I believe the weight of the knob is a vital factor in regard to determining the successfulness of the gear changes. These units are machined to within 0.002 grams of one another. 0.003 grams too light and there isn’t enough inertia of the shifter to slot into gear in the almost instantaneous manor it does, on the other hand 0.003 grams too heavy and the initiation of the transition out of one gear into the next is compromised. Just had a question, I’ve been looking for a car like this but I’ve noticed that some do and don’t have a rev counter? Why do some of the exact same cars either include a rev counter or don’t include one I don’t get the difference between them
