The title says replacing the home button. This is removing the home button. This should have the title changed

They replaced it... they just left the phone open though. I wonder if after you pay them to replace it, there is an additional re-assembling fee.

I did it! First time screen turned on and touch screen wasnt working so i disassembled again and realized thee red protective sticker was still on. Removed it then put it back together and it works great! No more cuts from glass as well 😆😉

Show how to replace the new ribbon! Because sometimes the touch ID don't work, and don't have all stickers glued. You must take it from old to new.

How come my doesn't want to work the Touch ID sensor

after me replacing the battery on my iPhone 5s the home button stopped working at all its as if the cables are not connected its telling me that toughch id is disabled. can this be fixed?

i accidentally ripped the ribbon cable off the touch ID button, can i use the replacement cable to connect it to the touch ID? and will it work?

No Touch id will not work

I just want to change the old button on my iPad 2 because it makes it look old so i wanna change it to the new button

If I used original authorised apple home button then the Touch ID function will work

Can I use my already working touchID sensor on my new rplamcement display, or will that now work?

yes just install that button onto the new one just be careful you don't want to break the flex cable or and part for that matter, hope this helps!

be careful while removing the screen cables one of the cable is connected to siri if u don't fix it properly siri won't work

Hi my iPhone 5s screen recently suffered a bad crack and i was willing to replace it. There was no damage to the touch id/ home button, but after i installed the new screen and connected the cables the touch id stopped working. I was wondering why that would happen since its the original sensor?

You can contact apple and get them to change the code but it's gonna cost ya from them to do so

I did this without removing the top ribbon connector set. Just held the front open with one hand and replaced the whole button assembly with the other. Half the work.

If i buy a faulty iphone , and replace it to my iphone. The touch id will work ?

Only the original iPhone 5S home button that came with the phone will provide the TouchID function on that phone. If cracked screen is replaced on an iPhone 5S then the original home button is removed from damaged screen and installed on the new screen to retain the TouchID functionality. If the original iPhone 5S home button is damaged then a replacement button can be installed and will provide click, double click, click and hold functions but will not provide ToichID functionality. This is a security feature of the phone. The original home button is paired with the original motherboard to prevent fingerprint hacking. Replacement iPhone 5S home buttons sold on eBay or iFixit do not include the TouchID feature. I hope this clears up the confusion about the iPhone 5S home button and TouchID.

Neiman Marcus all you have to do is take the old fingerprint sensor and transfer it over

I replaced it with a piece of aluminum and a scalpel

So I replaced my iPhone 5s screen and now the Touch ID won't work, I still have my old cracked screen and the Touch ID and home button still work, will the Touch ID work again if I replace it with the original one?

I have replace my home button and touch ID sensor . But after it . My touch ID function doesn't work. Is there i should notice . I noticed a piece of metal around the touch id sensor with the screw . which direction of the small metal ?

First point, second, the cable architecture ist much more different and so it won't fit into the 5 board.

Yes thats true but with a little soldering skills you can jump the 2/3 wires from the touch id's (click button) to the logic board. However it wil not scan but thats is what everyone knows. I'am not sire how big it is in diameter but it costs 6 dollars so give it a try
