How To Replace The Front Wheel Bearings On Your ATV - PART 1

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I'm replacing the front wheel bearings on a Suzuki EIGER 400F 4x4 ATV. I did not use any specialty tools in this video in order to show the homeowner that it is possible to do this at home.

Dony. Many thanks. I am just getting ready to do my right rear bearing and replace a broken knuckle on an older Arctic Cat 400 auto 4x4. Man, this vid was just what I needed on thinking through the disassembly. I like your methodical process. Very profesional. Thanks and I am looking forward to seeing any tips in the re-assembly.

Thanks donny :-) Another great tutorial :-) Parts washers are great, i used to use one and an auto repair shop, and an airline terminating in the typical lever gun just wizzed off the majority of the fluid :-)

That's a great video, Dony. It's especially fun to watch this done in the smaller size of an ATV. I'm a little puzzled by the diagnosis. In a car, when the wheel wobbles at 12:00 and 6:00 it's usually a loose ball joint, not just a wheel bearing.... With two wheel bearings separated by a spacer, I presume ATV bearing take on more lateral stability?

rear axle bearings ended up taking whole axle tube off the wheeler, long bar knocked out all but the races, had to torch them out cut a notch in top and bottom then hammered and chisel it out

I have a question. I recently bought a used 2009 rancher and when i checked the bearings there is a small amount of play. Not sure if its worth changing yet. How much play should there be for concern? Thx and awesome videos!

I never let the play be anymore then a 1/4in or so. I also wouldn't use all balls like he did I would go with oem. I have worn all balls and pivot works bearings out in. 2 short rides.
