Hi, I need some emergency information. What happens if Step1 is skipped? What will happen if the Remote Negative Cable isn’t removed and secured??

Good video and seemingly doable. But it depends on the Escape. WIth my 2017 Titanium (and maybe other models) there was a choice between two different sized drive belts depending on the capacity of the alternator. AND there was another belt just for the A/C that was hiding. It needed a special tool or knowledge how to install as it doesn't have an auto tensioner. Fortunately I had already decided to get a mobile mechanic who charged me $240 for labor and 2 Gates belts. I recommend you use the best belts you can if you are going to the trouble to replace the belts. Just my opinion. I didn't check to see if Haynes covered the replacement of the 2-belt design in another video or in their manuals, at that point I had luckily committed to a mechanic.

All this just to change the belt?

What? No no no. This is a video about changing the belt according to the video title (dated 19 NOV 2023). You do not mess with the tensioner bolt unless there is an issue or a need to. Take the tension off and belt, put new belt on, then put tension on belt. Done.

Not sure why you would need to take the motor mount off. Nor the tensioner. A lot of extra work for no reason.
