But how do you tighten it please? I have a GTH24V52LS with the commercial grade fabricated 52" deck. Operator's Manual says tighten belt until spring is 5.1 inches long. But, 5.1 from where to where. If I use end-to-end, including attachment loops, 5.1 is too loose. If just the spring coils, it seems way too tight. I'd buy a shop manual, but can't find one. Any help would be appreciated!

I went from a lawn tractor to this mowers should have done it years ago. I could never justify the $$$ as the old tractor just kept running, although slowly even with just an acre to cut... Well, I gave the tractor to my friend and stepped up to buy the Dixie Chopper 2348 Zee 2 w/ Kawasaki power.

Replaced belt, now it makes a squealing noise when I engage the electric clutch. What causes that? Thanks

Forgetting something lol. How about how the tensioner and spring connect.

The belt has a shape to it. Is it important to face the flat side any particular direction?

I just got a Husqvarna 54" riding mower 4 months ago, and the belt has came off a few times, and now yesterday it was tore up, so I bought a new belt. Trying to put the new one on. I am following the diagram and know I have it on right, but I haven't seen anywhere it saying about the thick side of the belt going on the inside, or against the pulley's or should the thinner side go against the pulley;s or does it matter. Also took the deck off to put the belt on, and then put the deck back on and tried to hook the belt around the last pulley but just couldn't get enough slack to get it around it. Is there a trick to getting the belt on the final pulley after putting the deck back on? Thanks for your help.

The belt came off my 54 inch cut Husky. Now there is a squealing noise when I engage the clutch. What causes that? Thanks

Mine has the same pattern. It keeps throwing the belt off. I cleaned the deck too and underneath. Everything moves freely. Any ideas with just this information why it could be doing this?

Scotty Thompson my same size craftsman is doing the same. Ordered a new belt was thinking maybe the 6-7 year old belt was worn out? Did you solve your issue with it throwing the belt? If so what was your solution?

@@joeholland428 Make sure the idler arm is in the correct position and is not bent. That was my problem.

A 1030 Joint so after i worked up enough courage to crawl around under it i found the drive idler spring was broken. I ordered up all new pulleys spring and drive belt for the mower. Planning on doing the parts swap in the next few days. The idler bracket hole where the spring goes is getting pretty worn out also and needs welded up. More like a slot now than a hole for holding the spring.

thx for the video ... the size bolts on this deck are SAE NOT Metric!! tha annoying nut you took off with an impact gun is 5/8"

where did you buy the belt for that mower?

i own a small engine repair shop so i have parts readily available from different vendors. any small engine / lawn mower shop can get this belt.

And how to take the deck down and re install and most important you dont show how finish the procedure:I lost my time.

Well if you can’t put a belt on that deck I prefer you never touch it that’s prob the easiest one I’ve ever seen
