Aloha Roy, great video! Been watching your Sienna videos as my wife has a 2013 with AC issues. Already changed the compressor control valve and flow sensor, but still blowing warm. Low side pressure 30-50 psi, the high side is around the same, which is concerning. I was thinking of just changing out the compressor but will try the expansion valve first, this video will be helpful. Mahalo!

Hello Roy. Thank you for the video. It was very explanatory. I ordered the parts and I will try to replace the AC expansion valve by myself. I also ordered the vacuum pump. What I do with the freon that is in the system already? How I evacuate that? I see you are using a scale or something similar. Do I need it? If yes, what kind and what brand?

Can you change the expansion valve without having too remove the plentum chamber an just removing wiper cowl.

Aloha Roy, I have a 2011 Sienna that is blowing warm air at idle and low speeds. I just replaced the expansion valve, flow control valve, and the small magnetic flow sensor. At first the AC was blowing cold at idle after these parts were replaced, but then the following day after driving, the van AC went back to blowing warmer air at idle or lower speeds. Do you have any suggestions on what to try next?

Did you put putty around the expansion valve?

It's very involved I see mechanics neglecting the rear spark plugs because there's so much to get at them. What island are you on?

There is a lot of things in the way, especially now days to get to the spark plugs and ignition coils, that’s why for this Sienna we did it along the way while I was doing a job that required me to take everything off.
