I would like to personally thank you for this video. I have a 96 Cadillac Seville SLS. The passenger side was blowing warm air and the drivers side and rear compartment was blowing cold when I was trying to turn on the heat. I pulled the code from the car's computer and found out the blend door was not adjusting at all. The only difference is that the panel on the bottom has 3 screws instead of the plastic clips. Thank you again. Without this video, I probably would have taken my car to a shop and be charged and arm and a leg!

Thanks for the info and help. I would like to also add that I have 99 Deville and there is also another actuator located behind the glove box. Open the glove box and take out all Necessary screws then remove the box. There are two small bolts holding it in. Pop the rod up and then remove the bolts.you’ll need a mini Ratchet and a 7/32 socket. If you have to do the one underneath the dash as shown in this video and you have bolts holding that panel on instead of clips you’ll need a 7mm socket to remove it.

I just completed this repair today. Very helpful video. I did find out along the way that there are 2 blend door actuators on the passenger side, 1 behind the glove box and the other on the bottom like in the video. If you replace the bottom joint and you’re still having issues, check behind the glove box. I had to replace both.

Hi I hope U can help with my prob. I have a 94 Cad Deville. Air would blow through the defrost no matter what you set it to. I thought I fixed that issue by replacing a motor in the ac programmer.@ Two weeks back, air blew through the vents but it would not get hot. As of today it blows back through the defrost & still does not blow hot.I would really love some heat, I almost don't care where it blows. Please and thank you. Sorry 1 more Q the actuator U replaced I don't have. Is that possible?

I pushed the arm the opposite way from where it was positioned and still have no heat. nickyscarfo...I have a 96 Seville and it has two actuator's. The driver's side is just like this video. The passenger side is behind the glove box. The interior of the 99 is basically the same as mine. The glove box has four face screws (torx head) and two screws inside the glove box on the floor. There is a panel in the back of the glove box that pulls off. That houses the electrical hookup for the air bag. Be sure to unplug it when replacing an actuator. After the glove box is out, you can take the screws off of the actuator. They are mounted on top, the opposite of this video. It's the same actuator, it's just mounted 180 degrees opposite. After you take the two screws out, unplug the power and put the new one in. The glove box has some electrical connections for the light, valet, and trac control. You do not have to unplug them. There's just enough wire for it to rest on the floorboard, or just put something under it to make sure the wires stay relaxed. .It takes about 10-15 minutes to get it out

Could a faulty door actuator cause the blower fan to stop working? I turn my fan all the way up and nothing. No air. No heat. Fan does not engage.

+Mr Cee It may. You may want to check the fuses and also check to see if there is power to the blower motor and resistor when the heat is turned on. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

I think it should be noted that if your Deville has dual climate control, replacing the actuator shown in the video will only fix the driver side. To fix the passenger side (if needed) you’d have to go behind the glove box.

Are there two actuators back there? I have a 96 Seville, dual climate control, and it's cold on the driver's side and warm on the passenger side. I went under the glove box and took the lower panel off. The lower actuator motor similar to this video is working fine. If I remove it, are you saying there's another motor behind the glove box that controls the passenger side blend doors? Just curious as all of my previous vehicles have one motor on each corresponding side. Thanks!
