Would a bent shift shaft make for harder/hash shifting?

@@tineiishurrr2455 If the shaft is already bent than its only matter of time when it breaks! Should be replaced immediately!

Very informative video. I'm thinking this might be the issue on my 2012 night rod special. Very hard shifting to neutral. All other gears are shifting fine.

I love your videos, - very useful and you are a genius ! But when the shaft is broken so deep - as in my case - I would have been curious about the method how you can set it into neutral... I suffered with it two hours because there was not a millimetre piece I could catch with a plier.. Finally I hit an M11 long socket wrench head onto the snag, so it was possible to screw it forward and get the neutral position...

Thank you for the video! Can you describe how to change the front engine mount? I want to change mine just to be sure, but i think there is a very limited amount off space to get the tools in place and would like to get some advise from you.

Do I need to drain the oil before replacing it? You just made my day. I broke my shaft off in a fender bender. I'm going to try to find a replacement for my 2003 VRSCA.

I have a question. what voltage regulator do you use for your custom night rods? I have a 2017 night rod and apparently I changed out the starter and battery and in a couple of weeks, battery drained. I was told to change out the voltage regulator.

So helpful ! I’ve subscribed ! I’ve been told the forks will drop or spring ?? And I will have to have case split . My shaft broke off . In 4 th gear . It’s an 03 anniversary silver model . Fast & reliable bike . I hear the market in Europe is strong for these bikes . I’m considering a sale if I can’t fix without splitting case . Does it have to be in neutral ?

Hi, If the linkage is not stuck than the problem is inside the engine - must open up and take a look!

No. Stock swingarm can be used but it needs some modifications.

Try to replace the shift Shaft but can't get it into Nuetral. Is there a trick to it? Can you give more details... does it matter if you turn it clockwise or counterclockwise?

I figured it out... need to rock the bike forward, only, not on the back stop...while turning the shaft counterclockwise. At least, that's what worked for me. I also read, on the 1130 forum, that it doesn't matter what gear you're in. Job completed successfully. Thanks, Pat F.

Hi, Its shown in Video since 1:18 and you "turn/shake" the shaft both ways as you dont know what gear you are standing at - very easy!

Its really complicated to understand whats happening but put the shift arm to the shaft, slightly tighten its bolt and try to hold with this and push the shaft carefully in. Make sure that the shaft is well lubricated!

Need to drain any fluids to do this shaft?
