Thanks. I'm going to be doing this on my brother's Caravan...he's got a broke spring. I really don't want to release the brake lines though. I don't want to bleed the brakes. I understand why you did it though. Fortunately, I've got a set of spring compressors so I'm going to try this with a combo of that and see if I can do it without having to bleed the brakes. BTW, you may want to put a warning about having to bleed the brakes after you're done. I'm grateful to KZreadrs like yourself who take the time to post instructional videos like this. Much appreciated!

Thank you for your comment. You can also remove the brake calipers from the rear-end assembly. That way you don't have to bleed the brake lines.

Thanks so much for the video, especially love how you specifically list the sizes of the wrenches written on the screen which saves me time having to figure that out.

This was awesome. You made it look simple, and with the right tools it is. They purposely make things appear more difficult than they are. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is appreciated. Edit: I posted this about 2 hours ago… and I am done. The new springs raised the car 1.5 to 2 inches. Thank you again.

I did not remove upper shock bolt or the track bar. I was able to remove my springs by just pushing down on the rear beam and pushing the spring towards the rear. My lower shock bolts were extremely rusty and needed to be cut

Without an impact driver doing this is an absolute nightmare. I had to remove the bracket completely and one of my 4 bolts broke inside the frame. I had to extract it and find a new bolt.

Thanks for the video. Need to do this on my ‘10. Is there a reason you take the brake line off vs the whole calliper and not have to bleed the lines?

Thank you for your comment. Removing the line and then bleeding them is much easier than removing the calipers.

Good shocks and springs but now you have super soft brake pedal since brake fluid drained out. Do not disconnect brake line people remove caliper and do not step on brakes when caliper is removed. Thanks for the video.

I noticed that not one drop of brake fluid came out of the line and the calipers were new with bleeder screws that will probably open. I would definitely remove the two calipers. He's right about the nut on shock. Mine rounded out with an 18mm. Took off the 4 shock mount bolts and they're 5/8" 😅

@@tomnpaula63 Thank you for your comment. Those shock nuts are in a hard place to get at. They should be welded to the frame.

@@BasaPeteIt's not part of the frame. On the second shock, I took out the four 5/8" bolts that hold the shock mount to the frame and worked off the car. The socket on the nut and the wrench on the bolt head. It was much easier than trying to get the wrench fully seated on the hidden nut up in there. I put the rounded-up nut from the first shock on the track bar bolt instead of putting it back in a hard-to-access place.

Is this doable without impact gun/wrench? I have 1 broken spring on passenger rear. And not sure if the jounces are bad may just get them and shocks in case. After watching ur vid makes sens to just do them all.

Can't you just remove the caliper from the bracket instead of removing the brake line and thus, have to bleed the system after re-assembly?
