    Just an FYI, if you live in an area with road salt and long winters it is a good idea to add anti-seize to the mounting screws, if you choose to use them again. It really helps the next time you need to take them off.

    You guys sometimes do things that I find really questionable. For one thing, you can't clamp off old brake hoses. You will destroy the inner lining. It's far better and cleaner to simply insert a rubber port plug into the banjo end. An assortment of them can be found at any parts store for $5.

    I just bought my son a 2008 Honda Accord, and during the test drive I noticed a slight wobble when braking, so I plan on changing all the pads and rotors. I do not want to hear about stuck rotor screws... I had a 2014 Camry with the rear rotor screws practically welded to the rotor. I even tried drilling those bad boys out, unsuccessfully. Just called it a day and took it to the shop for the guys to mess with it. They said they had to torch it off (heat it up before twisting it off I guess)

    For first timers, rear brakes are different to front. Front brakes you can leave calipers on the rotors whereas, rear brakes, you have to take the entire caliper off. Keeping V strings on is a pain.

Should I be worried about this falling apart? Also, some other comments say that we shouldn’t clamp the brake line hose. Did I damage it by doing this?

    Why do you tear out the slide pin boot at the same time as the slide pin? The pin is designed to hold the boot in place. If you remove the pin first, the boot comes out easily and is not destroyed. It can be used again many times if it is not cracked.

  • @daveclark8337

    @daveclark8337

    You must bleed them. See how much brake fluid he drained out of the old caliper at the 8:45 mark? That much new fluid needs to be pushed back into the new caliper and you have to get the air out of the lines. Also, if your brakes are so old or neglected that calipers need to be replaced, the existing brake fluid is probably old and shot too, so you might as well flush it through until the fluid runs clear.

    Just finish the job and realized I put the left caliper on the right side and the right on the left. Seems to be working fine. Does it matter which side I put the caliper on? The only difference I can see is the emergency brake is mounted on the top instead of the bottom

    You will have some trouble when it comes time to bleed the brakes if you ever need to do that your bleeder screw is now on the bottom instead of being on the top which will make it difficult

    I did the same thing and have to switch them back over because of that bleeder screw won’t bleed properly next time you need to

    This will mean that your bleed bolts will be towards the bottom of the caliper, rather than near the top. Bleeder bolts are always oriented at the top of the caliper, so that air can be bled. What you've done (and it's not an uncommon error) will make bleeding the brakes in the future unsuccessful, since it will not be possible to push entrapped air out of the caliper.

    I have a 2010 Accord Crosstour, My calipers don't have that x that lets you tighten them down, plus the emergency brake application doesn't seem to exist. Otherwise it look like a good video!

    I have never seen those rotor screws come off so easily... You almost always need penetrating oil and an impact driver/hammer to get them off. I have had to drill one of them out in fact.

    OE pads and a few aftermarket pads come w the holes for using the drag reduction pins. I always use them. This video lost me when he put lube on the pad ends, that will attract dust and dirt.

    How come you don't press the piston while car is on is 1000 times faster to retrieve both pistons it won't hurt nothing it doesn't even need to bleed it

    Great video, but Honda recommends this order for Accord 09 - 1 Left front 2 Right front 3 Right rear 4 Left rear. I assume its because the ABS unit is more rear mounted.

    How about the fact that he bleeds the brakes wrong and there is no pin to line up on the damn brake pads.. also the caliper was not seized up .. But aside from that was a decent video

    Those rotor screws don't come out that easy. Get ready to use heat and an impact driver.
