Just changed my wife’s brakes out. Great video! No problems at all. Good time with my son to show him how to change out brakes and rotors. Saved us $450+ on a job and life lesson for my son. Win, win.

I only use 6 point wrenches and sockets. Great video. I wish these were the only videos on doing these repairs.
Whatever your name is (we'd like to know), you are a Really Good teacher. I think I watched this vid 3-4 years ago when I last did my brakes. Very calming. And makes the job look kinda easy (for a DIY-er like me and a million others)...Now I'm gonna march out to the garage and DO IT !.... Anyway...Thanks !
Fantastic video. Thanks for being so descriptive with tool sizes and torque specs.

+AB Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
The TRQ video shows cracking the bleeder valve when you push the caliper piston back in. Whats the difference?
What is the "Caliper Grease" you mentioned on this video? Was it something specific?
I noticed that the new pads you removed from the rear caliper didn't have the micro holes drilled in them for the V springs to be installed like up front and your pads didn't have the "squeaker" bars on the rears like the fronts did.. My replacement pads had the holes and the springs, but the squeaker bars came in the parts bag unattached and I can't figure out how in the heck I'm spozed to get the squeaker tabs mounted on the pads. HELP!!.
Those locator screws are JIS 3 NOT PHILLIPS.
Are those shims really necessary? I was working a little blond and didn't notice until after I got the wheel back on
A1Auto, those screws on the rotor, are they really necessary?
On my 2012 Pilot, do the rear pads use the spring pad separators like the front brakes do? I noticed you didn’t use them on this older Pilot.

My 2010 use them front and back.
27 ft/lbs on those 12mm bolts? are you sure??? i just snapped mine! Nevermind--my dumb fault But what is the torque settings for the lug nuts?
great video but don't you install the spreader clips on the pads?

Why
What brand of grease do you use?
FYI those are not Philips screws. They are Japanese Standard cross hatch screws which are deeper than Philips and easy to damage using Philips drivers.
Does your truck have to be on neutral when replacing rear rotors ?

No. It may help getting the wheels off having it in gear (or park for an auto) if you don't have an impact wrench. Assuming your rear brakes work, just use the e-brake to lock the wheels while you pull the lugnuts (or bolts)

@@dmckrayjones but make sure the parking brake is off when you go to take the rear rotor off!! Otherwise you will curse your mouth off
do you need to replace the rotors each time you replace the brake pads?

+Jason Maravelias Only if they need to be replaced. No sense in replacing parts that are still good

I think the rotors have a spec for thickness and if they are thick enough, you can still use them, but it is recommended to get them "turned" which means have the surface smoothed out at a machine shop that does this sort of thing. Depending on the cost of new rotors, sometimes it could be easier to just buy new ones.

@Roger Baker Most modern rotors don't allow turning per mfg specs. But a roto+pad kot is so cheap there's no reason to not just get the kit over just pads and do it all.
I have a 2015 Pilot. I've removed the lugnuts but wheel won't come off. I've shot some WD40 around the lugs and the center hub, and have used a 2x4 and a mallet from the inside out. Hasn't budged. I even let the weight of vehicle on the wheel. Am I missing something??

weird, did you figure this out?

From the inside out? Do you mean the backside of the tire? I've had problems too and used a sledge with a piece of wood to hit the backside of the tire and it came right off.

Do you have any info on this? My GF just got hers back from the mechanic and now the parking brake doesn't work AT ALL. I'm pretty pissed. Normally I'd do the work myself but too busy this month.
