Might note to folks who dont do this work often or ever. The lines are aluminum.when trying to remove the manifold o rings and gaskets if using a pick or screwdriver whatever be careful not to gouge it into the aluminum. It wouldnt take much of a groove to cause the o ting to not seat well and you end up with a leak that youll swear it cant leak because youre positive you put new o rings and gaskets

Thank you for showing the procedure of putting a seal and ring for the AC hose, that is very helpful. In Shop manual for one car it says: put only R-12 (mineral) oil on o-rings (regardless of refrigerant), since PAG causes some rust in the future, and they say Nothing on seals. Maybe it is over caution, since everyone on YT put PAG oil. Also when I removed Liquid Line fm/Evaporator tube there was an o-ring of very unusual shape. It was a small black rubber washer slightly curved inside. I don't know if it was an o-ring originally which was deformed to that shape, or it is a different o-ring, which has same size, but looks like a washer rather than a ring. On another side of that Liquid Line (by the Drier pipe) there was another small black rubber o-ring (or whatever it is), which more looked like a small short cylindrical washer. I even don't know if to replace those black rings w/usual green o-rings, or better to leave them.

What gasket kit did you use? Do you have a part number?

It's been quite a while since I did that job if I remember correctly the gaskets came with the AC compressor and I'm not sure what model and motor you have in your truck so I guess your best bet is to just check with your local parts store. I'm pretty sure you can order those separate but mine did come with the compressor. I wish I had more info for you. Thanks for tuning in I really appreciate it.

Is there a torque for those bolts? 🤔

Yes, there are, and they can be different, it is in Shop Manual (or google). Haynes has some, but not everything. I've read somewhere that usually torques on AC lines are not large and if you overtorque it can cause a leak, but on 2001 Saturn SL2 Discharge Line-to-Compressor has 19 Ft-lbs and Discharge Line-to-Condenser 17 Ft-lbs, what are pretty impressive torques fm/my point of view.

I can appreciate what you're doing but you introduce so much contamination to the system with the o-rings sitting on a dirty metal shelf, laying the gaskets on the ground, etc... You're ensuring the early failure of that A/C system.
