You will need:
* New cables to suit. If you have an old self-adjusting handbrake type, the cables must be sized correctly to suit. Amazon links -

Superb, no useless info and common issues explained with solutions. Uberthanks!!!
Excellent video and I really appreciate your so nice diction. Even though I'm french with an English level which is quite basic, I had no problem to understand your tutorial (no need for subtitles). Yes, as far I'm concerned, it was actually helpful.Thank you very much, dear Craig.

Merci à vous.
U don't have to take off the wheels but I recommend it. It's easier to work in that "tiny" place.
Thanks for detailed guidance.
Excellent quality video. Well done 👍

It's a very very good Video!
Hi Craig great video thanks!!! What is the use of that little clip near the caliper at the end of the brake cable?
Thanks Craig, great video as always. I've done mine before but I think they might need replaced again. My rear caliper was also seizing (burning smell) but I replaced the pins and that seems to have sorted it. To clarify, the best way to distinguish which is causing the problem is by pulling the cable out of the caliper? If the cable moves freely it's the caliper, if cable doesn't move = cable obviously seized.

I think so. If the cable moves freely you need to put vice grips on the caliper handbrake lever and turn it, it should action easily enough and return to a free position by the spring alone, if it doesn't it's stuffed. If the lever seems ok but the caliper's still obviously seizing up then something wrong in the piston or pins.

If possible service the caliper or replace, it will let you down when you least expect it, mine did out of the blue, I got a new one as I didn't have time to service it.
Great video. Wish the underside of my car was as tidy as yours. I see you get cats spraying your bumpers as well.

So do I for mine! ;)
You don't have to drop the exhaust. It's a small space to work with but it's manageable to reach around to tighten or release the tension.

Lindström, du är svensk, eller hur? Tack för din förklaring, jag kommer att se det när jag gör det. :)

I confirm this. Just twist the exhaust as low as possible and remove the middle heat shield and then you go! My Mondeo is 2005 2.0 petrol stw
What a lot of work!! Anyone know a quick cheat to take up some slack in the cable?

Slack you can adjust on the handbrake itself.
