Unnecessary to remove the whole seat. Just take off the 2 nuts shown at 2:50-2:58 and unplug all other electrical connections. Then unscrew the cover for the seat adjustment controls (driver side) and you're golden.

There’s an easier way to remove just the seat bottom without removing the whole seat, reach under the front of the seat and there’s 2 nuts or bolts I can’t remember and the seat bottom slides forward and out

I don't recommend doing these yourself. I have a 2000 Tahoe and ordered replacement covers on ebay, then removed the old ones and tried to put the new ones on. It's very difficult to do both the top and bottom, especially if you have to deal with the seat belts and all that. I screwed up the top of the passenger seat when I did mine and could never get everything secured properly, lacking some of the tools you'll need to pull everything taut. I ended up finding a local auto upholstery shop and giving them the covers to install for me. Set me back $700 for both seats (labor only), but it was totally worth it considering how long I spent messing with just the passenger side. I will say that now that it's done, the new covers look great.
