New Ball Joint from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASBJ00305
Modern suspensions combine a number of moving parts for safe and stable handling. The ball joint is the crucial moving component that ties those parts together. The ball-in-socket joint can wear out and loosen over time. Or, the rubber protective boot can tear, allowing contaminants to seize the joint. Bad ball joints are a common failure point on vehicle inspections because they lead to unsafe driving conditions. Fortunately, they are relatively easy to replace with the right know-how. This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ ball joints on your 2008-16 Chrysler Town & Country.

At first he started to remove the old ball joint with his press only to realize that he hadn’t removed the snap ring and the camera stopped filming and went back to him finally getting the ball joint out

Good eye, Robert! You can see the snap ring still in there while he's attempting to press it out. He should have mentioned that.

My buddy wanted me to watch this, he's going to try to tackle this. 3rd things... 1 make shure there is no snapping before removing, 2 some ball joints come with washers and some don't most times depends on manufacturer. The one in the video should have had a washer installed. If the cotter pin cannot stop rotation of the nut it won't. The washer will move the nut further up the threads to the spot where the cotter pin can have full engagement with the nut. 3 check your own lugnut torque for your wheels most are 115foot lb

Good video but only one problem? The van He is working on it looks new and clean. Most vans by the time you end up doing this are rusted and not that easy to work on it but instructions are good.

Be really helpful if these videos would show if we need to press WITH the boot attached or if we take it off THEN press. Every single video I’ve watched doesn’t talk about this!!

Just so you are aware 20 ft lbs is not enough torque on the ball joint . You are supposed to do another 180 degree turn after torque of 20 foot pounds is met. Also on the strut bolts you torqued those to 65 foot pounds but then you are supposed to do 90 more degrees after torque is met. Not properly tightening these could be an issue so in the future you’ll want to get these tight .

You dont need to cut the ball joint with the grinder, you can use the same tool to remove the whole thing

I was doing the balljoint on my 08 town and country, and 4 hours later hadn't moved finally cut it, less than a minute job. And I had a balljoint tool, it had messed up the threads on the tool due too not just cutting the balljoint. So while it may not be needed I would recommend it..

It would of been even better video if you did it slower and maybe explained what to do if it doesn’t work so nicely as yours did the whole way!! I’ve been struggling for days, finally got the old ball joint off but don’t have enough clearance for my tool to push the new one into place. After all I’m just a lady, with NO lift…lol: Trying to do it Myself cuz I ain’t got a man to help me and sick of my mechanic messing it up more and cost me a bunch of money lol

No need to cut the ball joint when you can just use the removal tool with the hole in the center to press it out
