For the alignment you should mark eccentric bolt before removing from the strut so you can put back where it was for wheel alignment. I also do it this way as opposed to removing ball joint unless of course your changing the ball joint.

Tell us the nut size as you point out the switch to ratchet on the axle nut as you do for the box wrenches, etc. Really nice comments during your work to describe your technique, like pulling straight so as to avoid seal damage, etc. By the way, using the clicker torque wrench, you might want to creep up on the torque a little bit. The release when you reach the set torque only has a bit of play. If you go too fast you might overshoot. Not a big deal but depends on your wrench I guess. Thanks for this video, I will buy my parts from you guys in the future!

I imagine the purpose of the washer is to keep the bearing from rubbing against the axle.

I am going to be trying mine today as I did one on a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire...the only difference so far is the axle nut is a 33mm not 34 as there was too much play when the 34mm socket was on. I have 2010 CXL with 20" wheels.

Can you spray the wheel speed sensor with penetrating fluid to help get it out easier ? Can you use brake parts cleaner on that sensor too - to clean it up ?

Good video, but the vehicle was not that old and rusted. Plus the lift helps a lot. They should do it like we have to. With jack stands and close to the ground on rusted cars.

It takes too long and harder to film that way. They are showing you what’s involved. The lift makes it easier but it doesn’t change any of the steps. Plus they used hand tools for the entire job. What more do you want ?

How do i know if the axel needs replacement? The covers look fine, like the one in the video, they are sealed and they look fine, but i am getting a alight "clunk" only when i turn my steering wheel.... No noice when i go ober bumps. All bushings look fine, all new struts.

  • @myriadtechrepair1191

You're going to want to first make sure all of the fasteners are torqued properly on the control arms, tie rod end, ball joints, sway bar end link, and axle. If nothing is loose, the noise could be the axle but it could also be the steering rack. Much easier to replace the axle, so if you're doing the work yourself it's the better bet.
