Hi 👋, well done mate 👍. I've done this job 3 times on front doors (twice for the driver side and once for the passenger side). Based on the low price of your module, pay attention to the chinese modules, my experience tells they are not reliable. That's why I had to do it twice on the driver side, because 6 monts later the new chinese one didn't work. It is also the most used door. Luckily, each time I managed to open the door softly by unlocking/locking and giving ferm taps on the door under the handle. I observe some slight differences with the rear doors but it is almost the same. The white plastic piece does not exist in the front doors. Definitely a great video to help those having the door really stuck. Thanks a lot for the tip 👍

I just did this operation and replaced my actuator with a new one . Everthing works fine but I notied a little problem today. If I double lock my car with the controler and deactivate the alarm of the car , the door that has the new actuator doesn't look .. it remains unlocked. ( but this problem only if I double tap on the key when I lock the car so the alarm deactivates). What should I do ?

Can you help I have a simular issue on my Mk1 Octavia 4x4 1.8t, the drivers door doesn't lock unlock with the key fob. I have changed the actuator for the same make you have just done and still not working. All the other doors work on the key fob and all the drivers door electrics work, the only thing is the alarm led wont illuminate as well ? Could it be the comfort module ?

Hi mate I think you need to check your wiring that goes through to the door as I think you have a disconnection or split. If the light doesn’t illuminate then there is no power getting to the door.

Ive got a seat ibiza 6l ive tried pushing the plastic piece up and pulled handle but the door wont open at all when i pull handles. Any advice?

It’s probably still stuck then, you may have to find a way to force it until it clicks to the unlocked position mate.

In just had a similar case on a mk4 front right door lock actuator that was throwing fault code “Communication intermittent” and that was unable to lift mechanically and “stay lifted” Based on a youtube comment of someone successfully opening the lock by supplying 12V to pin 1 and 2 of the actuator, I decided to RUN THE ENGINE and the door unlocked after pressing keyfob unlock. Must have been the extra juice from the alternator vs fully charged battery that saved me from chiseling the lock open? Perhaps useful for others to try

Ah right that’s handy to know, I think I’m going to do the front doors soon just for peace of mind then I know all 4doors are done.

I found there's s safety lock which locks doors closed in dead. I think if you take apart the door module and grind down that lever a bit, you can actually keep your old door module

can you do this without removing the rear window ?

Window needs to come out otherwise you can’t remove the inner door panel piece to get the actuator out.

With my mk4 jetta when this happened hust push Against the door from the outside and it shoild open again do you dong have to make a hole 😂

Lol you lucky I had to make that ugly hole because mine was actually stuck.

No need to cut a hole in the door. I have replaced 4 stuck doors and using a screwdriver to liver the mental liver from inside opens door
