Just enough information here along with some written material to get this done without the special tools! I did purchase the tools to replace the clutch after an input shaft seal leak.contaminated the original. Got it all back together and couldn’t get it to relearn or even move at all. I had done a couple clutches in earlier Velosters but this one is different. I had already disassembled one half of the actuator and had to study it for a long time to get it back together (DONT DO THAT!!!). I was able to use a digital caliper and a small pick to adjust the rod length. Finally got it to relearn with my scanner and it drives like new!!! WOW! This was a challenge but it can be done!!!

Would the 2017 ioniq still run without this dual clutch actuator ? Mine is broken and I thought with engine actuator would be enough as single clutch to drive my ioniq

Without that, you won't be able to move. And you'll def throw a bunch of codes. The actuator changes gears

DCTs are noisy transmissions. Clicking sounds when changing gears is normal. Mines does that and sometimes it just randomly clicks loud and does self checks. (Elantra N-line DCT)

Unlike zf or wet dct's where the clamping force is held by fluid pressure, this is held by a spring. The only way to increase clamping force is to put a stiffer spring on.

@@thurules dct are famous with snatching when complete stop then drive in traffic jam & snatching when gear down then gear up suddenly. those snatching happening because there is no TC (torque converter). those snatching causing clutch, oil & engine\transmission rubber mounts consumed fast. it also raise transmission temperature with light warning in traffic jam. buying a car that snatch is unpleasant driving & disappointing
