How to replace an outside spigot / garden faucet

Outdoor Spigot - amzn.to/3BmCQvc
Water Meter Box Key - amzn.to/3GGbj8Y
Water Meter Key - amzn.to/34X0iTD
Drill - amzn.to/3LwbWp1
Concrete Drill Bit - amzn.to/3uJ8KRf
Teflon tape - amzn.to/3rFbpYX
Thread Sealant - amzn.to/3Bkqqnt
Adjustable wrench - amzn.to/3qNilUH
Pipe Thread Sealant - amzn.to/3mXDTfi
When a spigot leaks through the wall or leaks b itself there might be a chance that you need to replace that outdoor spigot.
Garden faucets are installed in every house and the replacement is pretty similar no matter what type of faucet you have.

Nice vid. Can I ask what is the piece near the end of the faucet which has tiny holes. 2:50. At 2:36 of the vid water initially comes out from those tiny holes then it appears to stop and just comes out of the main large hole. For my situation, water just continually comes out of those tiny holes and of course it leaks. What’s the purpose of this type of design. I’m trying to learn and understand better. Thanks.

I guess it’s supposed to prevent back flush into the water system. Would you happen to know the size you are using in your vid. It appears to be the same size as the one I have.

I was able to change out my faucet after watching this video. One thing, when I realized I wasn’t making progress twisting it off from the outside of the house, I went into the crawl space and realized I needed to take a channel lock and pliers to unscrew it at the connector so I wouldn’t twist the copper pipe. So I’d say to be aware of that. Saved a lot of money I am sure. Then I had to also work on my air conditioner and fixed that too the same night! LoL.

Older homes you need to be prepared to use a pipe wrench due to all the lime and calcium deposit around the thread. Most likely the job won't go as smooth as this video shows.

Looks very simple but be aware this procedure works fine as long as the female receiver in the crawlspace is very securely anchored to prevent the pipe in crawlspace to twist or kink and break. Careful with this procedure.
