    I have one of those pumps, you can get parts for it. I got parts for mine from Pacific air compressor, great company and they were very helpful!

    Looks good, cooks right along! The place I bought my Puma from said to use non-detergent SAE 30 until break-in though, then switch to synthetic. So i donno. lol

    Thank you! You don't have to use a synthetic oil in your pump, but it is the best type of oil you can use. We recommend an ISO100 synthetic blend or full synthetic, which you can find by clicking on the below link: mastertoolrepair.com/synthetic-synthetic-blend-air-compressor-oil-p-733.html

    I have this problem , except, they dropped the compressor and broke the flywheel. How do you go from a tapered end to make it a straight shaft which would fit the new flywheel ?

    Do you have a recommendation for a replacement pump for an ac-0171? It's on a devilbiss Pro air 60 gallon.

    We get a lot of requests for a replacement for this model. There is not an exact replacement available but you could certainly install a similar pump with some modifications (which are required). The AC-0171 has a poly-grooved pulley and uses a 6-rib serpentine-style belt, and all of pumps these days use a standard v-belt pulley, so you would need to install a new v-belt pulley on your motor. You may also have to drill new holes in the base to install the new pump. The Campbell Hausfeld VT4923 is a good option (for 230/240V units) or the VT4823 (for 110/120V units). These are cast iron pumps and are a great value. Also, the Coleman Powermate "165" pump (part# 040-0430), which is more similar to your original being it's an aluminum pump. All of the above are in-line twin-cylinder pumps which will work efficiently with the motor on your unit. You can search the above model numbers on our site to see specs and features of both pumps, dimensions, etc. I hope this helps!

    My gas powered compressor has a T fitting on the unloader valve with two little plastic lines coming from it. One line from that T goes to the throttle control. The other line from that T goes to the pump. What is the purpose of the one that goes to the pump. I’m about to replace the pump but it doesn’t have a port for that tiny plastic line?

    Thank you for the question! Most likely that routes to the head unloaders. Some pumps have "uloading" valves in the head so that when the pump kicks down to idle speed, the exhaust from the pump is "unloaded" through these valves, through that little air line and out into the atmosphere. If your new pump doesn't have an unloader line inlet, you will need to purchase a new Pilot Valve (the large brass valve which that unlading line attaches to) that has a built in unloader.

    How to calculate the size of a replacement air compressor pump? I have a 1 hp motor and a 30-40 gallon tank. I think the existing pump is bad, after only a minute or two of running, it slows down and then stops.

    I have an old Speedaire 3Z323B. I'd like to replace the non working pump but new pumps I see have the opening port on the opposite side, between the the motor and pump. My compressor pump the port is on the far right. Is there any solution?

    Plumb accordingly. You can get longer flex hose as he uses in the video and 90 or 45 degree fittings if desired.

    to free a pulley from a rusted shaft, you can use a lenght of tubing to pass over the shaft then hit the tube to push the pulley toward the motor by a small amount ( 1/16") so you break the bond , after, use the puller to remove it, it will be easy.

    We probably do! The newer Campbell pump will basically be the same but there will be some differences. If you have a 120V electric unit, the best replacement pump is probably the VT4823SJ, which you can view at the below link: mastertoolrepair.com/new-pump-with-flywheel-vt4823sj-p-1123922.html If you have a 240V or GAS-powered unit, the replacement pump would be part# VT4923SJ, which you can view at the below link: mastertoolrepair.com/new-pump-with-flywheel-vt4923sj-p-18458.html You can view all of the specs and details for these pumps on their respective pages. I hope this helps!

    How much does a pump cost

  • @MasterToolRepair

    @MasterToolRepair

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for the comment! Costs vary greatly among pumps, depending on the size, brand and CFM output. They can range anywhere from $189 to $4,000+. It really depends on the CFM and PSI the appliction requires.

    I was about to blast you for failing workmanship 101: you originally used an inappropriate fitting and tube combination which left the transfer tube forced against the fuel tank to chafe during vibration. Then in the end, you changed out both the flare adapter and the transfer tube, and probably even installed a longer belt to gain more clearance, but you never mention these facts in the video. Hopefully the novice DIYers out here don't watch such practice and assume it's okay to force things into tight spaces like this procedure demonstrates. Sorry to sound rude, but "Master Tool Repair" should ALWAYS demonstrate masterful methods.
