Ope, i was just watching the "replace your alternator video" to figure out how to replace the belt, then saw this one (which is a cut-down version of the other one). Love them both, easy to understand, right to the point. Love it.

Ok so I was confused for a minute, you replaced the Alternator belt first, and after you secured the Alternator. You then also replaced the power steering belt as well. The whole time I was thinking where did this second belt come from.

Thanks for the video, found it’s a lot easier to go in through the driver side wheel well if all you’re doing is trying to tighten the belt and not replace it. You can reach the locking bolt no problem, still have to lift the power steering reservoir to reach the adjusting wing nut.

You guys sure did show the hard way to replace the drive belt on those 1.7L Civics lol. You just have to LOOSEN the adjusting bolt(s) to remove each belt. You don't need to take the alternator or power steering pump off. This adds unnecessary steps to an easy job. I get you were replacing the alternator anyway, but if it's a "How to Change Your Alternator Belt" video, just keep it simple and make a separate video for that job.

Great Vid, one question regarding the adjusting of the belt(s). Is the power steering belt tensioning wingnut & bolt on top (approx. 9 min - 9:30 min) independent from the alternator/AC belt adjustment, bolt & wingnut shown (2:49 - 3:30 min)? Meaning, if my power steering belt is squealing due to improper tension, can I make adjustment on the top only?

After replacing with a new alternator and belt, I get a nasty squealing noise followed by the smell of burning rubber when i start the car. Hey man, super awesome video, you explained everything really well and the angles you recorded from are very clear. However, you should consider changing up the background music. Ive watched several of your videos, consecutively, in one day. The background music is very repetitive. Overall i would give your video a solid 5\7 though. Cheers

I lost the nut for the 12mm bolt that goes on the bottom of the power steering pump. Anyone know where I can get another one and what it’s called?

+Kelvo Amador You may want to check the belt routing diagram on your vehicle to see if it also routes to the AC on your vehicle. Usually there is a belt diagram in the engine bay near the radiator or under the hood. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
