His grandmother is his hero! That was a super tutorial.❤️
I'm the repair person in my family. I've replaced zippers in jackets for my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter as well as myself. Getting the old zipper out is quite the job as there's usually4 rows of stitches to get through. But being he gramma means being able to fix things for my family with lots of love. Thanks for the video.
This is a super tutorial, especially when shops charge per inch to replace the zipper. It can add up to $30. Thank you Laura.
Now that is great information! I just put in 2 jacket zippers for my daughter and SIL. It took longer to remove the zippers than put them in. They were just fleece, but this info is in my head now. Thank you!
Perfect timing, Laura. My sister called me earlier today to tell me that the tailor is charging $35 to fix the zipper on her coat. Immediately, I responded, "Do not pay & bring it to me." I haven't seen the coat yet, but at least I have an idea. Thank u so much 💕

The tailor was going to charge me $60! This is a great video - going to try and replace it myself.
Grandmother's will do anything for their grandchildren! I know I will! Thanks for the tutorial.
How great this was! Never would I have thought I could cut that one side off! It looks great! Thanks, Laura
Thank you. This is so much easier than removing the old zipper as I normally do.
thank you!! Next time I get a coat with the rivet buttons like that I know what to do!! I'll give you a cheat that I found recently when replacing zippers in hunting jackets....I use elmer's school glue to baste with!! You can sew through it and its easier than pinning!! wonder clips help too!
What perfect timing! I've been wanting to replace a zipper on an old jacket but I've been holding off till I figured out how to do it. You've given me the confidence to push forward! Thank you so much, Laura!
What an awesome grandma!🎉 Thanks for this tutorial. I always feel like zippers are my nemesis. 😊
Thank you for this, very helpful. And now I will be able to replace my grandson's jacket zipper should he need it. Years ago I replaced a zipper in a fleece jacket of mine. It was a bit wonky but it worked, I still have it. It's an old jacket so doesn't matter. But this is so handy for a more tailored one. Thank you and wishing you a lovely Christmas 🎄
Wow. What great information. My Son's zipper broke at one end. He lost the pull. The zipper had those snaps all in the way. I don't know if your trick would have worked? But I purchased pulls. Nope none fit. Of course that is how it usually goes. There was a front upper pocket on the front of the jacket. I removed the pull from that zipper. Put it on the primary zipper. Stitched the front upper pocket closed. Just looked like it was zipped shut. Told him that pocket was now only for looks. He probably got the jacket/coat free from a vendor at work. I ended up trying to fix it costing me nearly 30 dollars until I decided just to kill a pocket. Of course he has no clue about the trial and errors. But at least he has his coat back. Ha What we won't try to do for someone we love.
What a wonderful nanny you are, thank u for this video as my daughter has a designer coat and the zip broke xxx
Laura, this is a brilliant technique; your information will get me working on replacing my walking coat zipper! Thank you!
OMG you are like the sweetest Grandma ever!
Perfect timing, thank you. You made it look easy and doable
I couldn't have done it without this video. I had the exact same situation with the snaps. My first ever zipper worked out fine! Thanks!

I’ve been asked to replace a couple of zippers; so now I feel I will be up to the task. Thank you! 😊
My brother left his jacket for me to repair. It needs a zipper. I think is is the same repair needed, down to the snaps! Thank you, I am so happy to repay a favor for my brother!

Make sure you have a heavy duty or industrial sewing machine. It’ll be really tedious with a regular sewing machine.
Thank you for this video. Very helpful tips.
Impressed. Don’t have a machine that can sew through that.
Great tutorial. Thank you 😊
Thank you, great technique.👍🏽
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the info.
Thank you so much Laura
I have just made half moon cuts around the snaps and stitched it right in.
Awesome!
❤ I have a jacket to fix for my son in law 🎉
Thanks. I have to replace a zipper on one of my fall jackets. All I wanted was the end thing at bottom of zipper but my husband wouldn't let me get that part. I swear some....lol
I aways said no when asked to fix a jacket zipper. With this video I think I could do it.
Thank you
Thanks for this Laura!
When I think about the things I've thrown away over the years over simple "issues"...
Oh no! My son just asked me to fix his hoodie! Now I’m without my original excuse!😂
Thank you so much for the video! I’m always Us being asked to do this repair. Where can I get a set of those plastic strips you use when dealing with uneven bulk?
Thank you I will do your tip. I have a question how do you fix a jacket that the inside flap likes to get caught in the zipper when pulling the zipper up? My dad has Alzheimer’s and he constantly moves his zipper up and down if I can fix the problem it will make his and my life just that little easier. Thank you for your tutorials I like all of them.
