Your advice to compress the cork was really useful. When I got some 9.5mm corks, I thought they were too big, and I needed 5/16" (7.9mm) instead. Then I saw your video. Thanks!!!

Had to replace the corks on my G baritone bugle, and your excellent video made the job a slam dunk. Used the synthetic corks with the built-in adhesive. Substituted a butane lighter for the mini torch, and a machinist's gauge for the pad slick, followed your instructions, and now those keys are good as new. Thank you so much! 👍

Refurb'n a 1935 Martin into to the early morning hours and my brain shut off. I didn't need the cork "how to" but I couldn't, for the life of me, remember the spring orientation. Thank you Sir for the nice close up shots. Your video gains me 1/2 hour of sleep. Cheers!

1:17 I used a drop of super glue gel because it's all I have. Hopefully that will be good enough. Thanks for the detailed instructions.👍

Hey, after 6 moths, does the glue gel works?

@@billb6182 Yes. Still holding. The downside might be that when it comes to repairing the worn out cork, it will probably be more difficult to remove the cork and glue residue.

Have you ever tried Valentino brand corks? They have a stick on decal and are synthetic. They work really well!

I have been using those lately. Got my Bach Stradivarious on one of those, used them in an old cornet and a few other trumpets as well. I like them better than the real corks I have to go to the music store tomorrow to get some for a baritone I have. I always buy at least 3-5 of them so I have "inventory" as well.

You briefly show a parts catalog. What was the name of that company? I have a collection of old trumpets that I wish to refurbish.

Here is a link to a video that may help. One thing I think I did not mention in this video is that Allied only sells to music stores and not to the public. If you need something from Allied, go to your local music store and see if they will order it for you.
