There is one thing he didn't cover. When you put the valve guide back in the valve make sure that it is facing the correct direction. Valve guides have two different sides. Otherwise the valve will become jammed in the casing. Just turning the valve until it locks isn't a guarantee of correct installation.

Thank you for mentioning that. My demo trumpet was a Bach Soloist. The plastic guide won’t get stuck BUT if you put it in backwards, put the valve in and turn until it clicks, the valve will be in backwards. I agree that with other brands, jamming would be an issue.

OMG THIS WORKED TYSM. I just got my trumpet last week and today I started like twisting it and then it became wobbly. I searched many videos in KZread and picked yours and IT WORKED TYSM I THOUGHT IT WOULD NEVER BE FIXED.

That’s awesome. Tell your son to always turn the valve clockwise or to the right. Turning counter clockwise or to the left just loosens things up and the valve comes apart. This is an exciting time for your son. I wish him a ton of fun and musical memories to come.
