Hey man, props to saving all these people money by showing them that appliance repair is sometimes possible. 😃
My hair straightener cord is about to do this.. I did a quick search and found this video. Instead of buying another expensive replacement, I will be heading to Home Depot to repair it, myself. Thank you for saving my ass over $150 💯 You're doing the Lord's work.

Great video! I am an old lady and I think I can actually achieve replacing the plug on my 40+ year old Electrolux Marquis. Thanks so much!
I simply cannot thank you enough for this AMAZING video! I used your link to order the plug from Amazon, since Home Depot did not have it. I followed your instructions exactly, and guess what? My beloved vacuum has a beautiful brand new plug! I did it all by myself, thanks to you! Best instructional video EVER!
I'm a big believer in fixing things rather then replacing things awsome video
Well you gave me confidence to do this myself. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 3 years later, is still helping folks. RAR Sacramento, CA 4/23/23

I recently pulled my vacuum plug out of the outlet and it broke. I watched your video and was able to replace the broken plug. It works great! Thank you!
Awesome, thank you. Our vacuum cord at work broke, the prong ended up in the outlet. This video helped me to fix it since we didn't have a guy around to take care of it. Us women like to keep things clean you know. Took a pair of scissors and a sharp knife. It worked!! But we then realized someone bought the wrong plug replacement. I am picking up the right one and our vacuum will be back in action for less than $5! Thank you.
Wow! Glad to have found this video, I literally thought I had to buy an entire new adjustable frame for my bed I’ve been having for 14 years and now I know what to do to fix my broken plug! Great video thanks 😊
My teenager followed your video and fixed the vacuum cleaner cord. Thank you for the amazing video.

Thanks for making this. I have an old Bradford radio from the late 60s that I'm going to need to replace the plug on, and this is going to help so much. Really appreciate the simple straight forward directions, without any extra fluff. Got yourself a new subscriber.

Thanks for the great video! I now have three working Electrolux vacuum cleaners instead of three pieces of junk, and it didn't cost me a repair bill. Once again, thanks.
Absolutely great tutorial. Quick, simple, and straightforward.
Thank you SO MUCH for this. I was feeling absolutely heartbroken & lost about my subwoofer breaking but this gives me hope :)
Thanks for easy to follow video. I needed to get my plug replaced but your video gave me the confidence to do it myself. Your video saved me time and money. Thank you very much!
I’m so excited, I got a vintage/antique sewing machine recently and the plug needs to be replaced Now I gotta figure out how to fix the spot where the wires connect to the machine (it kind of loops around two nubs)
Thank you for making this video. You saved us $300-$400 for a new vacuum, by just replacing the plug! Thanks😊👍🏻

This worked perfectly for me. This video saved me times and money…THANK YOU!!!
This is great. Got the same exact problem on an old Miele. I originally soldered it but that failed quickly. It's a polarized 2-prong but I like the stabilizing effect of the large 3-prong plug like you did. Thanks!

I have a 10 year old Miele, issue is with the cord by the plug end, obviously the wiring inside is faulty it works if you bend it the right way. I think replacing the plug to cord will be easier?
Thank you! The guy at Home Depot said the wires didn't matter. I see that you said black to gold(brass?) and white to silver. I figured it mattered and I specifically asked, so I am glad I found you. You helped my family be safe.

While it is true that the appliance doesn't care which wire is connected to hot vs neutral, you absolutely might. Polarization ensures that the wire you're more likely to touch is the neutral; it's a safety feature
Thank you....I was thinking I had to buy a new vacuum cleaner but instead went to Home Depot and followed your steps and fixed my vacuum.
Life savior! I was about buy a new heater. 😅 I can just replace new plug end!!
Impressed with your instruction! Very simple very professional
I have a Shark vacuum that I yank out of the socket, and one of the prongs broke off. Last time this happened I had to buy the Shark I have now. Now after finding this video, I won't have to buy a new one. This is incredible, Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video. Fan said return to manufacturer for cord replacement. Fixed in short order thanks to this video.

Hi. I want to say thank you for this video. I assume that replacing a plug end is standard all around as I needed to replace a plug for an old electric heater. You saved me from throwing it away. This was the only thing left that I had of my dad's since he passed away years ago and did not want to part ways with it. It seems simple to replace and I am grateful for being led to your video 😃🙌!

This idea is much better than cutting off a different cord off an old appliance and pairing the two with electrical tape. Cleaner.

Ditto everyone! Useful to the max I’m curious though does it matter that the original plug was two prong and the one you chose to replace it with was three prong? 4:46

And done! Thanks so much!
A have a case with a dehumidifier, I have to replace the plug end every three or four months because it gets burned after a hot spot is produced in one of the prongs. In using a plug similar to the one you use NEMA5-15P . Seems to be that after a while one of the screw contact forms a hot spot and overheat the blade. I'm thinking todo a try with another type plug end which terminal is a compressed hole
Thank you for this
You showed me exactly what I needed to know thanks

If my cord got the same color, but one of the wire got ridged and the other one is smooth, which one should I put in the gold plate?
would this work for an ac unit? anything different? i can’t find any specific videos on an ac unit plug in. slightly worried i’ll run into something i don’t know! i rent so i do not want to just cut into the wiring on the unit!
Blessed video. 😄
Will a plug that says 15a 125v work with a space heater that says 120v 60hz 1500 watts?
