I have adjusted the cable on my vintage 1971 Kawasaki Trail Boss 100 (3300 original miles) but it still doesn't disengage the clutch when putting it in gear? Your video mentioned other parts that might need replacing? Any guesses as to my problem? Thanks!

Lubing your cables is good practice and can prolong the life and sliding action. Check out our cable lubes we sell here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/Sales/834/How-To-Replace-A-Dirt-Bike-Clutch-Cable . I would recommend you pick up some. It's not very expensive.

Are you talking about the actuating arm that's on the engine? If the clutch worked before the cable broke, it should work again as soon as you get the new cable on. kzread.info/dash/bejne/a6dsqNN-crK0nM4.html -Charles

Adjusting the clutch side first allows you to make bigger adjustments so that you can do your fine tuning on the lever side to get the correct free play and to make future adjustments when components wear.

My new bike came with clutch drag. It seems pretty normal. New plates could get rid of it though. I heard roughing up surfaces of the plain plates helps them hold oil and reduces clutch drag.
